I found the 106 great fun for Autocross racing though! (That was a GTI) You're right about the others though. :P

I would also suggest that if it's your first track experience:
- Don't push too hard too quick. Start off at 6/10ths your capability and work up slowly as you get more comfortable
- Consider paying for an instructor to take you out - you'll learn loads. Though this isn't necessary and I didn't do it till my third trackday but I did have a racer next to me on my first one so I cheated a bit!
- Tyres, brakes you want to be in good condition to get the most out of your day. (Although if your tyres are at end of life that may be fun too as you can power through the corners not caring too much about them) I don't want to scare you but we frequently burned through a set of tyres and brakes in a day... And at least a tank of fuel. I'm a heavy braker on track though.
