Just got back from a great day's driving!

420 miles door to door; no better way to shake down the V6 than giving it it's first proper outing. Some of the roads over the tops before lunch didn't entirely agree with the coilovers, but the roads after lunch were much better suited to the car.

Thanks to Graham for doing such a great job in organising everything and for leading the pack around his turf.

Hope everyone else got home safe and sound; the sun was glorious all the way back!

    Cheers,
    Tom

Made it home - dinner on and wine open!

What a fantastic day! After a wet start we all enjoyed the thrill of navigating at speed, in thick fog, whilst avoiding sheep, but then the weather cleared............... At 10.30 the skies cleared as the clouds started to break and the sunshine won the day. Glorious views across the moors in every direction. Motorbike free roads, the tourists stayed at home and only a couple of taxis(!) managed to slow us down.

No break downs, we only lost Michael twice, Martin only drove into the back of my car once, some people allowed Hadrian's Wall to pass completely unnoticed, Bill failed to find his pussy, all were impressed with the big, leafy, papery, sat nav type thing that worked even without a battery, the police were stunned that Tommy had driven all the way from Sheffield for a coffee at Hartside, the jogger near Kendal was a tosser and all in all it was a good day and as far as I am aware no farm livestock were maimed or killed as a result of our activities!

To those who couldn't make it - you missed a cracker. To those who came thanks for a brilliant day; fast roads, fun cars, great weather (after 10.30!) and brilliant company.

Can't wait until we do it all again next year!

    Graham

Hetty and I got home half an hour ago. No idea how many miles I did as my speedo stopped working just before we met up! Sounds like the cable could have gone.
We had a bit of everything roads and weather-wise. Was a great day!
    Thanks Graham.
Time for a beer and Top Gear now.

Thank you all for a great day out. Driving up into the clouds was simply amazing in the morning, even if you couldn't see the car or even the road in front.

I refuse to acknowledge was lost at any time, I was just taking a different route to the rest of you.

I didn't take many pics and the only video I shot was a 30 second one of us driving in the rain which isn't very interesting. I had to use my phone as a speedo instead of a camera as my car decided to stop telling me my speed!

Sounds like I missed a belter!

Currently sofa stricken with my leg up, watching back to back episodes of The Walking Dead. Glad I have 5 seasons to watch.

Looking forward to seeing more pics

We indulge in hot chocolate and chips at Hartside Cafe whilst scenes from The Fast and the Furious 7 are enacted outside in the car park.
