Mk1 4a-ge Timing belt fitting
It's a bit of a Woodsport party trick this one, fitted in 35 minutes while you wait, and i supply the belt £50

Re: Mk1 4a-ge Timing belt fitting
Hi there.
I need to get the cam belt on my Mk1b T-bar done. I see that this post is quite old, but was wondering if there was some sort of deal (especially a while-you-wait deal) available now ? I'm doing a lot of work on my car myself, but this isn't something that appeals !

Yes i still offer this service, not sure what sort of deal you mean that's better than £50 supplied and fitted mind!
If you just let me know when you want to come here i can do this for you while you wait in under 40 minutes

I wanted to check that the £50 deal applied as it was a while ago that the original post was made. I'll pick a day next week and check you can fit me in... As it were, so speak

Hi, i'm sorry but my garage is not open on Saturdays, i can do both belts one after the other during any weekday though, it'll only take 1.5 hours to do both.

Just noticed this has the 2009 price, I am currently doing Mk1 cambelts for £80 supplied and fitted while you wait in under an hour (most around 40 mins), nobody in the world gets anywhere near that price or can do it as quickly.
Thanks Paul.

A members car came to see us today for our renowned drive in drive out cambelt service, I see this on a good 40% of all 4age engines I work on, the exhaust cam pulley is one tooth out, and to compensate they fully retarded the ignition timing and set the fuel mixture rich to disguise the wrongly fitted belt.
This is surprisingly common.
My advice is to only have your cambelt replaced by a specialist, this particular car has been like this for 12 years and never ran right within that time.

Just a note to compliment the service from Paul in the long overdue replacement of my cambelt (shown above)
My car is now running better than it ever has in the 12 years I have had it (to be fair, it highlights the importance of sending it to someone who knows what they are doing)
Normally I would write it off as the limit of my amateur diy skills but the very same car went into MrT for a full service service after I got it and it was not picked up!!!
Paul adjusted the timing and fuel mixtures and would take any more than the £80 quoted - best money I have spent and well worth the trip from Glasgow.
Cheers Paul.
