i have an 89 automatic n/a. i am doing a mini restoration. looking for tips on improving speed especially since it's an automatic. Mahalo

Unfortunately i know nothing about automatic mk1's. the NA autos are very rare here, the more common autos are all supercharged versions so don't lack power.

I presume all the same things for more power apply as its the same 4age engine, so read up in the mechanical section.
this will include basic mods such as performance air filter, exhaust, etc.
you can spend lots on aftermarket ecu's and different cams etc, but the power gain does not match the money spent.
there are obviously different engines you can put in, but this will usually mean replacing the gearbox and engine loom etc.
