looking to maybe get an mk1

A friend of mine had a 300... very very nice car but he blew the turbos and gearbox withing a matter of weeks!

That particular MR2 looks pretty good. Just check all along the sills, arches, suspension mounting points. That white-over-gold colour scheme is very rare if original, but I think it was only specified on the earlier models, suggesting it's been resprayed at some point. Nothing bad in itself, just make sure there's metal underneath rather than filler

Mechanically they're very solid, just check for the usual really.... smokey engines etc, the 4a-ge is a very strong engine so should't give too much trouble. Also check for a noisy alternator.
