Unfortunately the time has come to sell my mk1a. I've had it since Sept 09 and really loved it but unfortunately I can't afford to run two cars and the less practical one has to go
It has MOT until October 1st, but no tax. I stupidly cancelled the insurance on it a few weeks ago and now can't tax it so someone can drive it away, so if anyone has any hints on how to get 6months tax on it for a buyer, I would be very grateful.
129k miles.
The niggles on this car are as follows:
* Clutch slightly slipping. Don't often notice it but it could certainly do with being done. I have the 3piece clutch kit and just never got round to doing it, so its yours for £50.
* Uses a little oil, but not smoky.
* I clipped a high kerb with it and bent the front left arch in. I bent it out and primed it but never got round to properly repairing it, so this needs doing.
* Crunches a bit between 1st and 2nd if you're racing through the gears.
* Rear tyres aren't all that special, but legal.
Good points:
* Very little rust - Arches look great. Little bit of rust under edges of doors. You can see in the pictures - not very bad.
* Interior in good condition - I will hoover it all out and clean it before someone buys it so don't be put off by the crumbs in the pictures.
* Very recently (<1000miles) replaced timing belt
* New water pump (<1000miles)
* Very reliable.
I've tried to be as comprehensive with the photos as possible.
Its going on Ebay tonight for 10 days. I'm open to offers, but make them sooner rather than later as I don't want to disappoint people who bid in the last 5 days or so...
