Sorry to mess you about but I am going to have to withdraw as the car will not now be ready in time. It seems people go away on holiday in the summer and wont cancel to help me out!!!

Everything needs to be done really!

There is a lot of welding to do and I ordered some B post bottoms from Eurosport UK but they have told me that there is a 4-6 week delivery and their supplier is shutting down for two weeks holiday next month! I have a whole back end and passengers footwell kindly donated from one of Tom Munday's cars to go in as well. There is also a bit to do at the bottom of the A posts and fitting new drivers side rear arch panels. The whole front end is being replaced as well. Apart from that its quite solid!!! I will also be refurbing the wheels and putting on new tyres.

I am starting refurbing some Mk1b brakes to go on (its a 1a), Koni Adjustables and Apex springs as well as poly bushing and tarting up the suspension.

I have also got a few electrical mods to do - Spoiler stop light, auto window up/down, new speakers etc.

I was also hoping to drop the engine while it is away being resprayed to tart it up then fit a Jimi bracket, K&N filter and SS exhaust.

I have just read this and thought why didnt I scrap it when my son gave it to me eight years ago, but then remembered that it is one of the first ever registered in the UK still around, so wish me luck and it will definately be ready for the NEC!!!

hi , it sounds like you have major work still to do , but it will be a top job when its finished . good luck with the project and look forward to seeing it at one of the meets .
