    newbie in Devon

Hello, my name is Neil, live in Ivybridge Devon, anyway take a look at my Mr2 and let me know what you think. Bought from a guy who had bought himself a Lotus Exige and needed some garage space. The Mr2 had lived in the garage for the last 12 years, does not have a speck of rust on it, and had a full Toyota service history 50K on the clock one owner and all old M.O.T s . Anyway I got it for £500 . Since buying it I had it serviced and have waxoiled and undesealed it to death, also it was completely debadged, I have put new badges on it but the side 'bump strips are missing, if anyone knows were I can get a set of these please let me know. I dont use it in the winter and its now lives in my heated garage. Am looking forward to attending a few shows with the club . What do you think of it

Hello Jinxy, she was a little faded when I first got her, but after many hours with tcut and polish I got via an advertisement in Practical Classics mag, called auto balm made by a company called Bilt Hamber (top stuff by the way) she has come up blood red again. I am no stranger to spending days polishing cars as I also have a Escort mk6 cabriolet with 20k miles on it that I show in the summer. I took the photos with my mobile phone so think thats what made it look a bit pink. I am applying for full membership today and cant wait to attend a few shows with you lot & of course would be more than happy to write an article for the club mag. Just finding my way around this site at the moment and must say i,m pretty impressed so far

Glad you found us & glad you like the site, yep it took me a little while to navigate the new site even though i was privvy to see it before it went live , its nice to see you want to get involved as well, your input into the club as a new member is very important for its future, its you guys that need to let us know what we can do better & indeed what we are already doing well, i believe there are already quite a few members in your area & if there is an local area group near to you ,why not get involved there too, the local organisers always welcome fresh input where shows are concerned & they welcome fresh mk1's on the stands too , above all, enjoy your mk1 & enjoy the club, all the best, Jinxy
