    Toyota MR2 Mk1 Mk1b 1989 Blue Road/Track Modified Classic Sports Car 1.6 4AGE - £1450

Here you have my Toyota MR2 Mk1 Mk1b 1989 Blue Track Car with Mods 1.6 4AGE.

    It has the below modifications:

    • Sunroof removed and blanked off
    • Carpets and soundproofing removed
    • Front and rear strut braces fitted
    • Koni shocks, apex lowering springs
    • Fully poly bushed suspension
    • 18mm rear anti-roll bar
    • Steering rack poly bushed
    • Quick shift kit
    • Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 allow wheels (mixed tyres)
    • Engine bay cooling fan
    • Momo steering wheel
    • Modified bonnet to help with reducing front end lift
    • Stainless steel exhaust
    • Most bolt on panels have been lightened through removal of webbing etc.
    • Only 70k miles on this car, and despite the small bits of rust on the arches, it's a really solid shell.

Could be used as a track or fast road car, or potentially restored back to standard with a bit of time and care.

Was in daily use, but has since been off the road for a few years.

Engine runs and starts, but is running quite roughly. I'm guessing it just has some moisture in the ignition components as it ran perfectly before being taken off the road.

It has some very nice bits on it, with the wheels, suspension, exhaust and supporting handling mods.

It's in need of new discs and pads all around, and a few of the calipers need refurbishing. I'd recommend refurbishing all of the calipers. The alternator is also suspected to be seized.

I do have brand new discs and pads, as well as an alternator, which can be negotiated for separately. I do also have a brand new battery for it, which isn't shown on the photos.

I've priced it fairly I feel given the aftermarket parts it has on it, plus the fact that it's a low mileage body shell. If I had somewhere to store it, I would take it with me, but a house sale of where it's being stored forces the sale.

I have owned it for 9 years, and it's only had 5 previous owners. It was great fun to drive, but I already have two other MR2s and limited storage, so this one has to go unfortunately.

Local collection and viewing in Beverley, East Yorkshire.

    £1,450 ono.

    Any questions, just ask.

    Hi all,

Bit of advice from the masses please on this. I've had very little interest, and have to move it from it's current location within the next 6-8 weeks, so currently have the following options:

    1. Keep dropping the price, and leave all items on the car
    2. Strip the good parts off, and scrap the shell
    3. Strip what I can off it, but leave it as a rolling chassis and drop the price down (but it'll make it potentially even less attractive)
    4. Pay to have it moved over to Sheffield and pay for storage until I move house later in the year where I will have driveway space for it

It would be a real shame to scrap the shell, especially as it's a low mileage one (I know it's not exactly OEM, but we've got to think long term preservation of the marque here). By my measure just the strut braces, suspension, wheels, exhaust and other bolt on parts would come to about £1000 on the 2nd hand market without any issues. Then if I drop the engine and gearbox, that'd be another £5-800? Then whatever I got for the shell itself; not sure on scrap prices at the moment.

    What would you guys do?

    Cheers,
    Tom

Cheers Jimi, will give that a go!

I really don't want to strip it, but will be forced to in a few weeks.
