MR2 Mk1 Club South East events for 2017 Event Details

    Introduction
The list below details our proposed events in the south east region for 2017. Unfortunately we cannot confirm all the dates or participation of some of the events yet but as soon as they are confirmed we will let you know. We will post upcoming events on the Forum as they approach their date.

There will most likely be additional events that we will be arranging as we go through the year. On the other hand if there is no response to a listed event then that event may be cancelled due to a lack of interest. So it is recommended that if you intend coming to an event please let us know either by email, telephone, text or by posting on the club web site forum.

At all of the events listed are attended by both the Drivers Club and Mk1 club. The Drivers Club have the majority of members at these events but we are all very friendly and there is no bias so everyone is welcomed to join in. We have been doing this for a number of years now and it works extremely well so expect to see all three Mk’s of MR2’s at these events.

Due to insurance and “Elf & Safety” requirements most of the events now require individual applications to be made together with a donation. In some instances we can only book space for the club at a show so we don’t have spare tickets for last minute entries. We identify these events, give you the contact or web site details in the following list. You will need to download a form, complete your details and send it in the post with payment. If you have any problems we can supply you with a PDF copy of the booking forms. Please be aware that these show’s are very popular and are often full before the show closing dates so don’t leave it until the last moment to send those forms off.

April Sunday – The New MR2 Kent Run “The White Cliffs Experience”
(Date to be confirmed) This date needs to be confirmed as our organiser who leads the run is committed to racing in the Toyota sprint series but there are no dates available yet and the sprint series racing days must take priority. We are hoping it will be 9th April.

Another day touring the Kent countryside but we have a new route planned for 2017 which will be more orderly and gentle on the speeds. The run starts at the Hythe Services on junction 11 M20 near Folkstone. The route is approximately 50 miles with 3 stops. The first stop will be at the Honda Bike Café on the Dover Road (A2), at Barham near the Lydden race circuit, next is a humbling stop to pay our respects at the battle of Britain Memorial at Capel-le-Ferne atop of the White Cliffs of Dover and the final stop at Samphire Hoe nearby.

16th & 17th April Sunday/Monday (Easter weekend) – Festival of Steam and Transport. Chatham Dockyard.
This is a very popular show and is action packed. You can visit all aspects of the historic dockyard while you are there, that normally costs £17 per person.
Vehicles must be 1989 or older so only Mk1 MR2’s are eligible. Book early for both days then decide which day or days we prefer to go. Download an application form and send it off with your fee early to avoid disappointment. Individual application required. £5 per car including driver and passenger
