This show is a travelling road show comprising Classic cars and excellent music. All profits are donated to the Kent Air Ambulance service. It travels around the Kent coast from Dover, Quex Park in Birchington, Herne Bay and Whitstable between May and August.
We've been to shows at Herne bay before but it always seems to be slightly different each year. The show has previously been held in the high street and at the school grounds. This year it was along the sea front. The roads are closed off, the cars are parked up along the sea front and the music plays all day long with various performing artists. The main attraction is Ben Mills and his band.
To show your car at these shows to have to apply individually and send a fiver with your application form. These shows have become very popular so they get full quite quickly. To our surprise and delight we had 10 MR2 that applied successfully.
Everyone met at the M2 Motorway Services near Rainham early at 7.45am and then made our way towards Herne Bay having a bit of fun on way overtaking, then slowing to let others overtake. We were one of the first cars to arrive at 8.30am so we had plenty of time to clean and prep the cars. It was a hot day and when the show opened at 10.00am there were lots of people passing by all day long. The cars created quite a bit of interested as they always do and we received some very nice compliments. These shows are very good, if a bit different to static shows, the music means you can wander off and watch the musicians play their music and you can easily get lost for hours so we will definitely be returning next year for the shows at both Deal and Herne Bay.
