Ive not been very active as of late on within the club. new job, starting a business has meant no time or sleep let alone enjoy a second car!
And know, myself and my wife are expecting our first child, so im under the cosh to get some funds in. So, on to the car :-
Ive had for 1 1/2 years, and have spent some time and money getting her to a good state, by no moeans concourse, but a nice level where ou cna drive her without being scared!
She's in great condition, 1988, 121k miles, white T-bar, here are the Pros and cons:
Pros
- Head rebuild less than 2000 miles ago, with new gasket set, head bolts, waterpump, cam belt, injector seals, oil. THis was carried out by Bill hulme form the club, a great chap, an awesome mechanic and a mastermind of all things MR2 Mk1!
- coolant flush and change less than 2000 miles ago
- Brand new windscreen
- new custom stainless twin exit exhaust (not loud) fitted 6 months ago
- solid underneath, and in the important areas
- 15" Wolfrace alloys (tasteful)
- Gearbox oil change
- K&N Air filter in boot area
- Pretty good interia
- Starts on the button, no 5th gear pop out, responsive through all gears
- Good tyres all round, plenty of tread
Cons
- Both rear arches have slight bubbling started this season (only slight but want to make you aware)
- Near side rear brake needs attention, only half travel (this came on 4 months ago but not got round to taking it off and refurbishing)
- T-Bar does leek, roof lining removed by previous owner. (this was going to be the final job to complete)
I've had her for 1 1/2 years, never driven her in the rain, and garaged her every night. T_bar and Brake were my final jobs. I should also point out the arches have had work carried out in the past to a decent standard, again not concourse but hardly noticeable.
So now I've moved jobs and travel over 100 miles a day, I need to sell both my cars (also have a GT PD TDI 150 golf) and buy something more suitable for the miles.... and the baby that's on the way!
The car is known is known in the club, I've been to most runs last year and one this year and I've been to Tatton.
I want minimum £1600 for her, pictures to follow!!!!
