    Mornin' from Red 5

    Hi Everyone.

I finally got round to registering, primarily to see what occurs for the parade at the Silverstone Classic and whether you want any race cars on there. I've talked to Dylbie about it quite a bit but never come up with any firm plans.

I did book tickets for the Sunday and understand the parade is on the Saturday which is not insurmountable.

WTF are you, you may well ask.

My name is Dave Hemingway and I run in Car 5 in the MR2 Racing Series with Trackattack Race Club and I've also done a few rounds of the 750 Championship this year as well.
As well as choosing the car as an ideal race car, I have taken quite a shine to MK1s and have one for the road as well (although Victor is a bit long in the tooth and showing it)
As well as my usual race car, I have last year's retired car which may well become a rally car; and I also have a spare car which is quite off race pace but ready to go just in case. Anyone who visited the Autosport show may have seen it on the Alcatel One Touch Wheel Change Challenge stand.
My current race car has been part of a project for Barnsley College Motorsport Engineering Department this year and next year's project is a bare shell full build to race spec for the Series for which a shell and a comprehensive box of bits has been supplied.
When I'm not on board an MR2 Mk1 I also have an Escort Mk2 rally car which can be seen trampsing through the UK forests and other interesting rally venues.

Come and say hello if you venture to the race meetings.

Cadwell Park this Sunday (19 July)

My friends race mk1 and mk2 escorts and micras he's also got a Californian hill man imp he's rallying in a year or two.
Love escort mk1 not so keen on the mk2, I want to build an rsr escort after I've done what I've wanted to the mr2 for drag racing.
I had a go at the wheel change challenge didn't like the gun used plus didn't want to strip the threads on the studs, was quite fun though.

Hello mate! Glad you signed up here, would be good to see #5 on the parade lap!

I thought you were in Barbados with the Escort?

Hi Dylan, Escort has gone to Barbados. Currently heading out into the Atlantic on the banana boat but we will catch it up in August.

Snowtrigger, it was a top of the range Clarke gun so probably not capable of stripping the threads, but if it did, we had taken a big bag full of studs and nuts. And we made the rules so that you had to enter the nuts by hand first so they didn't cross. Good lesson on how to win friends and influence people though, Don't like my Escort, don't like my gun!!! Good job I'm thick skinned!

I apologise if it sounded harsh or abrasive it was not meant to be, I never win friends I'm just not that lucky and as to influence not a chance there I'm afraid that boat has sailed long ago.
