    1987 MR2 T-bar Leather for restoration

    Gents,

thought I'd put this on here before I put it on Ebay.
This is my Mk1 T-bar that I've owned since July 2012. I bought the car with 62,000 miles on it and used it as often as possible until August 2014 when the tax ran out...... it's now showing 68,500. The rear arches were bubbling and although I could have just filled them, I intended to keep the car so took the car off the road to restore and cut the lip off the drivers side rear arch..... it's stood in my garage ever since.
I bought the 3 repair panels off Steve Brookes for the drivers side and if the car fetches my asking price, I'll include them in the sale.
My work life has become extremely busy and I've come to the conclusion that I just haven't got the time to dedicate to this car and so am reluctantly putting it up for sale. It drives like a new car and I won't knowingly sell it to anyone who I believe intends to break it.

The car is totally original with the exception of a Jimmy bracket that I bought off the man himself...... it's got the roof bags and shades, thatcham immobiliser, 2 keys, original factory stereo ( my modern stereo will be removed and the original stereo installed prior to sale), all the handbooks and a massive history folder with every tax disc and mot cert from new, the service history book stamped up by Toyota and every Toyota invoice to correspond with the service record. It also had a copy of the DVLA microfiche showing all the previous keepers, V5's etc. The history file is incredible.
The four tyres have only done 3000 miles and a year ago I changed the headgasket, water pump, valve seals, injector seals, timing belt and tensioner, plugs, oil and filters.....there's a thread about this on the forum somewhere. Everything works on the car and it's a pleasure to drive. It's a 1987 crossover model so has the blue top engine.

Here are some photos that I took today....

The car starts and drives fine.... there is a private country estate opposite my house where any serious prospective buyer can road test it but bear in mind that the car has no tax or mot and will need to be trailed away from my home address in Stafford.

I'm looking for £700 for it..... I'll consider offers for a bit less but then the 3 repair panels won't be included in the sale. I know that restoration projects are ten a penny on Ebay but most have got starship miles and have been messed about with...... this car is clean, original and not messed with and has very low genuine mileage, plus a ton of history with it. It deserves to go back on the road.
