True if you have a spare thou it's a no brainer, but I'm a tight northerner and already hopefully got a six speed lotus 2gr gearbox plus two mk1a gearbox one with only 46thou on it so even cheaper

In my experience 5th gear pop out isn't anything like as common as it's made out to be, 1a's seem to suffer from it more than 1b's.
Gearstick nodding tends to be caused by worn (and or soft) front/rear engine mounts rather than gearbox problems, I filled my front/rear engine mounts with silicon and the nodding virtually disappeared
