Silverstone Classic 2014 - Warning pic heavy!
Firstly RIP to Denis Welch who lost his life driving a 1960 Lotus 18 on Sunday Very sad news.
Now...
To anyone who hasn't been to the Silverstone Classic: get your arse there next year!
It was THE best motorsport event I've ever been to. The racing is fantastic - millions of pounds worth of beautiful classics being driven flat out! The static displays were the best I've ever seen. The Ferrari owners club stand was just incredible, as was the Maserati, Aston, Jaguar, Lotus, BMW etc etc. More car porn than I've ever seen before! I have got over 3GB of photos! I'll try and post some of them up in some sort of order! Sorry if some of the photos are bad quality, I borrowed my sisters SLR and it was my first time using one so I was a photography noob!
Definitely will be going next year. Hopefully I'll be taking my MR2 and doing a parade lap for the 30th anniversary.
The funny thing is I said to my wife as we were walking to the circuit: "As these cars are worth so much, the racing probably wont be that great as the drivers will probably be scared of smashing their 'pride and joys' which in some cases will be in excess of £1million." So we walk up the bank, the circuit comes into view, and what do we see:
