mr2 breaking for spares (not anymore)

Breaking my 1989 mr2 due to never getting it running right and losing interest. All parts available and willing to post most parts. It has a full janspeed exhaust system

I'm interested in the ignition coil if it passes the test shown in the BGB (I already have three failed ones). Primary coil resistance between 0.5 and 0.7 ohm (measure between the negative and positive terminal) and secondary coil resistance between 11000 and 16000 ohm (measure between big central and positive terminal).

I'm also looking for an undamaged triangle trim bit that covers the side mirrors mounting screws. Passenger side

You'll need a good quality meter and leads to measure that kind of resistance accurately

Didn't know that, might be why I have three "failed" coils already :s.

I also need all the switches in the drivers door, to open the windows, lock the car etc.

Put your meter on resistance, join the leads together and see what it reads. The cheaper meters can read 0.2/0.3 (or higher) ohms. even a good quality meter is liable to read 0.1 ohms. So if your failed coils are failing on the primary resistance and are (for example ) around 0.5/1 ohm out of spec they may well be OK. It might just be that the meter/leads combination is making them read out of spec.
