Im guessing it has rotten rear arches and the sills look like they have been patched.....

Doesnt look too bad though and MOT & TAX!!!

I would be interested to see what is under those bolt on arches

a lot of rot i should think. Look at the sills and a&b pillars

I'm going to have a look at this later.....as a complete newbie and seeing this as an entry level to Mr2 ownership, is there anything in particular I should be checking, and/or walking away from?

I know the bolt on arches are a concern, is there any way I can get an indication of what is underneath them?

Look through the boot and ask if he can remove the boot interior; you'll see light if they are gone. I did this when I realised how bad mine were
