Alternative Alternator

Seems to be good value. Just ordered it and will be fitting before the weekend. Should work but i'll report if it doesn't.

I'm not trying to piss on your parade but only the very early 1a's (84/85) had 60A alternators. Everything else had 70A alternators, it should work OK just a bit under-rated.
That shouldn't be a problem in the summer, but may well struggle to keep the battery fully charged in the winter especially during long periods of high electrical loads (lights, heater etc )

I am probably being stupid Jimi but how do you know it is 60A rather than 70A?

Thank goodness for that, I read the listing through numerous times and could not find any reference to the 60A

I should have mentioned that I checked the part number, I've updated my post with the EPC numbers

I've spent a year and half restoring my MR2......it's not seeing Winter ever again!



Shame I've spent £70 on an under-rated alternator....still, has to be better than mine that doesn't really work at all.
