If there's no takers by Friday evening shall we postpone???
Sure, Red 1985 Mk1a, I'm the second owner, 80K, completely original except exhaust and filter, I have every bit of paperwork and the car was ordered at the launch of the Mk1 at the British Motorshow.
Unfortunately, she doesn't look as pretty any more, but watch this space!

I was unfortunately just minutes too late
Where are you located? Id love to see it when its done...so few original MK1a's left unfortunately.
The photos were taken in 2007 , the blue one has changed hands now but was owned by a chap called Ashley. Rare colour that and there is one very low mileage one floating around.
I try and not look at Mk1s which come up for sale, I have an awful habit of buying them. I had 6 a few years ago and have only just whittled that down to 3.
I'm in St Albans but the car is in Luton now.
Cheers
Ollie
It is indeed a rare colour. I had one a long time ago..it was always my favourite one. I also had a white MK1a, a Mica MK1b Tbar and a red MK1b tbar with black bumpers and side mouldings which looked pretty good as mods go.
If all goes to plan, i may have another blue MK1a like the one in the picture.
Good luck with your MK1a Ollie...would be great to see the progress on here. I live near stansted airport so will no doubt see you at a local meet one day.
Cheers
Chrys
Cheers, I doubt they'll be progress reports on it, I'll just arrive in it one day, sideways. Damn I loved that car, so many memories!
