Think he's taking the pi$$ a bit to be honest.
Even owning a Mk1.5 myself and liking the idea of good ones being worth £6-7k, I think that it should sit around £4-5k. Mk1.5's aren't for everyone and they do cost more to run and insure than a standard Mk1, but he may find a buyer at or near that price if the right one comes along.

Blacktop is the 20v 4AGE.
I am still shocked that many people (no offence) haven't heard of the other 4AGE derivatives that are available.

The blacktop has about 40bhp more and runs on 4 throttle bodies, 20v and VVT on the intake camshaft.
Coupled with a short ratio 6 speed box like in my mk1b it makes a lot of difference....
The mk1 with the black top and 6 speed short box goes side by side with a stripped out and mapped clio sport 182...
Having said that I also own a 2zz-ge with the same gearbox on a mk3 and that is another step above

I thought it was only supercharger and n/a std.
And thought all other versions .. v6, turbo, blacktop were mods.
