Hi Pete
I will try to make it, depending if the car is painted by then. Will be good to come over from time to time and meet up with MK1 owners, as there aren't any in France (other than a handfull who brought them over and keep them on UK plates(as it was never sold here.
Best wishes for the meet
Lee
be a good run to see you there :)
I'm new to the club and never done a run, i'll try to make it as long as it's not wet!!

Need to give it a good blast over the next few weeks after engine rebuild.
Hope to see you all there.

looking forward to seeing you all there :)
Great to see so many mk1's turn out this year
Another run will be sorted for towards end of the season going Dover direction
Big thanks to all those that came and Alan for sorting the maps
Great day will sort a full write up and pics asap
Better late than never, I just forgot to load these photos after the run. Has anyone else got some photos of this day to upload? It was another great day running around the Kent Weald and Kent Coast. 64 miles of road blasting. Kent will never be the same!
Thanks to Pete and Kelly for organising the run and taking charge of the day.

There seem to be an awful lot of Probes in those pictures!!
There would be, there were at least four MR2 clubs there ;)
ha thanks for the happy looking pic of me alan :)
glad everyone ejoys it
looking forward to planning to another later this year
There are a number of former probe owners who decide to sell up and get a mk1 and that is because they see us grinning (and not comparing rev 3 with a rev 4 spoiler or whatever). If we didn't share events they wouldn't see our cherished little cars.
I try regularly to organise MK1 events and no one signs up for them.........
I think these things are cyclic Kate, many years ago the North East was a large and very active area but people move on and do different things so it is now quite inactive. The North West / Yorkshire at the moment has a very active area, we have just got back from Tatton Show where we had 12 or 13 cars (all MK1's) on our stand over the two days.
Keep plugging away and eventually it will happen, I have to say weekend overnight shows are the best way to integrate a group of people in my opinion. We have a core group that grows each year, the youngest is my son who is 16 but has been going to the shows for 5 or 6 years now and the oldest is Bill Hulme (I think) who is quite old and has been organising the shows for years. Next up for us is Silverstone Classic which I am really looking forward to :-)
I have been running this event for years and always had several clubs involved makes it a great day out.. (the mk1 isn't the only good car out there)
mk1 or mk3 cos that's it's nearest Toy rival and i'll have a mk1 everytime just soooo much more balanced and better in all respects Toy got it wrong with the mk3............
as for the probe 16v or 24v - they're both shocking drives............
