sorry - forgot to mention that it's got a blue interior but hell this is seriously clean :)
have a look at that under car shot and tell me that's a rust bucket.............
Hi snoball.
Yes it is very clean isn't it. Getting closer too ;-)
am doing my best to try and find you summat to occupy your brain cells lol :)
You won't have to try too hard for that ;-)
Looks like a full respray, no stripes.
Am I the only one to notice that its one if those 'special' t-bars that has a sunroof rather than a t-bar?
:-)
i didn't notice that it had the removable sunroof lol :)
is it still a mk1b ? :)
reg suggests it is lol :)
it's still clean as a whistle though :)
Yeah it's a Mk1b and if the description can be believed, it's got ABS too (why do dealers make so many mistakes on adverts? Surprised it doesn't have 5 seats and airbags too)
:-)
Does look nice and tidy but I'd be wondering what the story was about the respray (assuming its had one).
What was the reason and any pics before respray to see what body works been done, if any.
If all is well on that, then it's a fair price I suppose. Naturally it's had a bit of a mark up as its from a dealer so better could be available cheaper privately. I'd sell you mine for less :-), although it doesn't have ABS and only a normal sunroof rather than a t-bar sunroof :-)
mines only a mk1a so pre-ABS invention lol :) and my sunroofy t-bar is removable so that makes it a semi targa top :) why semi cos the bit of roof round the edges is still there when the tinted sunroof gets put in the boot lol :)
as for price reckon it'd be about 1800 if it really has been kept this clean and unblemished throughout..........as for the paiintjob - could've just been rusty screws leaching onto the paint, that's what mines got it's nothing major --- mines up for a respray at some point still not sure whether dorothy's gunna be black - candy purple or lettuce leaf green though :)
Do you know that all MK1's had three pinstripes all the way round them, we are not talking about rust stripes :-)
1a's also had pin stripes they were just different, I did the stripes on Marks car
http://www.mr2mk1club.com/showthread...ighlight=Kmk11
They are the same width as 1b stripes but two colour and there are just two. Having said all that the car in question is a 1b so should have three pin stripes :-)
I think not having the pinstripes put back on after a respray, which this looks like it has, looks mingmong. It just looks unfinished compared to other immaculate mk1s about.
This one looks nice

I have no pinstripes as I don't like them personally, even though I can make them any way I want :-)
Ahhhh...I will be needing some replacement pinstripes soon for my front & rear bumpers ;)
is it english or irish or is it on private plates ????? cos it's wearing different front/rear plates........
does look tidy though :)
i think that as it's been resprayed at some point then the stripes should be left off to signify that it's had a paintjob so not totally standard bit like paul painting the roof of the mrx black to signify an engine change - just my thoughts..........
[QUOTE=snoball;150659]is it english or irish or is it on private plates ????? cos it's wearing different front/rear plates........ [QUOTE]
he explains in the text that the private plate has been removed and replaced with the original, and the fact it is resprayed from red to silver
I am new to all this, so has this one been resprayed based on pinstripe-ness ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1610514219...=p5197.c0.m619
The mud flats MR2 lettering looked done by hand, so I guess so?
That car looks like it has already had a full respray, as the rubbing strips have also been removed. Just to say though a car being resprayed is not a bad thing, you just have to check that any repairs have been done properly and that the respray is not hiding a bodge job. My car had been bodged when I got it on the rear arches, I only paid £500 for it so I expected it, the problem comes when you pay £2-3000 and find out it is a bodge job :-(
