Racing Schedule 2017
Hi all,
I received notification at the beginning of the week that they've started posting out tickets, but that they'll take up to two weeks to arrive. :) If they do arrive by the 14th, I think that'll be the earliest they've been sent out, which will make a welcome change.
As ever, I'll keep you posted (bu-dum) regarding any updates. :)
Cheers,
Tom
I got a message saying the camping tickets were starting to be sent out as well. Not long now :D
Tom, I have decided not to attend this year.
My car needs the suspension fitting and the first date I can get this done is the 5th August. I don't feel comfortable driving to work with it anymore let alone a 200 mile round trip. I will do the car proud at JAE though as I have not attended there for 4 years. It's a shame the MK1 club do not attend, so I'll be on the IMOC stand instead.
Couldn't resist this when I saw it. A suitable tipple for Silverstone! :)

Anthony is doing cocktails, I have a bottle of Fireball whiskey and now chairmans rum, this could get very very messy :D
Camping tickets have arrived!

I ordered camping ticket last night.

Ah so your kids are going Anthony, good to know :D
My tickets arrived yesterday too. Just waiting for the ones from Tom :)
I don't know if Tom has asked this year yet but last year rather than post the tickets he gave them out in Woodlands, it saves the club postage and means they can't get lost in the post. I will go first and say I am happy to collect my tickets in Woodlands on Thursday :D
I'm happy to pay a few quid postage to cover it. One less thing to worry about going with them.
Yep, as Tommy said, I'm happy to bring down tickets for people that are camping. :)
I think this calls for a list!

I'm easy Tom. If it's easier to collect on the day. That's fine :)
The Jags are back! :)

"We are once again partnering with Jaguar to provide the chance to experience an F-type being pushed to the limit with their Art of Performance Tour. Visitors aged 12 or older will have the chance to enjoy all the heart-pumping thrills of drifting in an F-type with a professional driver at the wheel! The experience will be recorded on video to be taken home and relived after the event.. and is FREE.
If you're not interested in an adrenaline rush (or are under 12), you can test your skills with remote-controlled scale replica Jaguar F-types on the mini drifting circuit, also for FREE."
Brilliant :D
Mind you my video was hilarious :p
Don't forget the 4x4 course which is free as well, really good fun and you can bypass the queues at the main gate !

Yes thanks, I'll be in touch for recharging. See you there.
Tom, I've just read the posts about the tickets. If you haven't posted ours out yet we'll be happy to collect them from you at Woodlands too.
Thanks, Bill & Mike

Watching the F1 qualifying earlier today and they showed a helicopter view of Woodlands, I am really getting in the mood for the Classic now :D
According to the Silverstone Classic website we are in area Green 15 which is at the Brooklands end of the Wellington straight. I think we were in area Grey 13 last year which is just next to Green 15.
Hi Tom,
I'm not camping, but am staying nearby.
I could potentially pick my tickets up from you on Thursday night - but I'd probably need to meet you outside the campsite somewhere.
Alternatively, I could meet you on Friday morning outside the venue?
If you don't have the tickets yet, then I don't think there will be time to post them to me - I'm leaving Dublin on the Tuesday morning (25th), to catch the ferry to Holyhead.
I've also verbally committed to selling my spare ticket to Belgibrit - so I still have to arrange how to get this ticket to him as well.
Let me know what you think is best.
Shane.
Yep, a good spot I reckon.
Can anyone remember if this area was hard standing or grass? From Google Maps, it looks like sand, which doesn't help us tell either way.

We're bang next to the Jaguar experience, so should get a good amount of foot fall to our stand also. :)

Right, it's confirmed that we're on grass, which is always nicer.
Also, call it a coincidence, but 10 minutes after chasing up where the tickets were today, I got a despatch notification for them. I should therefore have them by Thursday, and so will have them sent out by the end of the weekend. :+:
Cheers,
Tom
Figured it out. I did ask a silly question that I've answered myself. Looks like really nice place to park up :)
Hi Tom,
If your mobile number hasn't changed since two years ago - then I still have it! Will send you a quick text to confirm anyway.
I'm not sure what time I'll be getting to Silverstone at on Thursday evening yet - what time will you be at the campsite from approximately?
Shane.
