Yes I am bringing 2 flags :+:
Bill.
Hello,
I have few questions.....
1: Just wondered if I am too late to get a ticket for the stand? I am hoping to get my Black (or absense of colour if you are Bill ;) ) Mk1a MOT'd before the weekend to possibly attend on Saturday.
2: Do I need to pay for a ticket for the day if I am on the stand, if not/so is this affected if my son Jack comes with me in the car?
3: I have some Tesco "days out" vouchers that allow me entry to Wicksteed park, does this allow me to get into the car show if I can't get my car done in time.
Sorry for all the questions :( I have been away from the forum for a while now, I have been VERY busy with work :(
PM Chris (Oukie) to see if there are any tickets remaining.
It's worth pointing out that you will be able to buy tickets at the gate. They're £25 per ticket (which is per person, not per car). I am unsure whether or not you'll be able to drive your car in though, with a general admission ticket (though my ticket doesn't seem to have a car pass with it so I guess we don't need one as in previous years...). Strictly speaking you should camp in the non-confirmed camping area, but it looks like there may be some space still in the MR2 Village area, so it's worth finding out when you get there.
I can only come on one day (probably Sat) so is the ticket only for camping or for the show or both?Quote:

I Now only have 2 spare tickets (which may already be spoken for ) as soon as Stuart(whoever he is gets in contact with me ) As he has seeminly paid for the tickets via cheaque to the club but I have no address for him and no one has got back to me as to who this stuart is (perhaps the chairman?) I dont know. But at this rete he wont be going either
Looks like I'm going now as well :D
So if I pay on the gate I can still bring the car in??
OK thanks for the info ;) That kind of counts me out anyway.....Quote:

Just my opinion. I am not saying this is the case for JAE, but I have been to a few events like this, and I won't display my cars at them. I am not angry about it, I just feel it's wrong.
As I can only come for the day, I can't justify the cost of showing my car (if I get it ready in time), I will probably attend and say hello though!
Thanks again for the info.

You cant even camp for a whole weekend elseware for that kind of money,
Absolute Bargain :+:
Like I said........Quote:

I don't think, and don't believe I said that £21 is expensive for a weekend event, it isn't if I gave this impression, I am sorry.
I just don't think that the people who make the effort to bring their cars to a show (paying for fuel etc), to make/create the show, earning the promoters money (in many cases) should have to pay to do so, to me, at least, this seems morally wrong.
To make myself clear(er?) this only applies if I was asked to pay money to park my car on an event stand, not if I was getting more out of it (camping space, free entry to park facilities etc). I have been asked to do this before, and won't do it, that's all. As I said, I am not angry about it, I just feel it's wrong.
This is my opinion. If I have offended people with it, sorry :( But I still feel the same ;)
As I said in my original post when asking questions about this event, I have not been on the forum for a very long time, and TBH, did not have the time to trawl though all of the posts on this event, I guess I got the wrong end of the stick about it and set myself up for a fall. I will try and pay more attention in future ;)..... work permitting :(
