NORTH EAST MONTHLY MEETING
We meet at 11.30 on the first Sunday of
each month at the Church Mouse, which is conveniently situated 2 miles from the
on the A167 between Chester-le-Street and Durham. From the A1M leave at junction
63 and follow the A167 to Chester-le-Street and Durham, after the third
roundabout you will find the pub about half a mile ahead on the left. We would
love you to come along and meet other enthusiastic members from around the
region. If we have a good turn out on the day then a possible run out could be
organised after lunch. We look forward to meeting you there.
The Church Mouse has a motel built on the side of it and the room rate is £45
per night including B & B if anyone from further South wishes to attend one
of our meetings and come up and stay on the Saturday night. Or if they wanted to
attend one of the Croft events or North East events its ideal as we meet from
their car park. Michael Sheavills - North East Area Organiser

FIRST MEETING SUNDAY 3rd FEBRUARY WAS A TREMENDOUS SUCCESS!
NORTH EAST REGION PUB MEET SUNDAY 3rd FEBRUARY 2002
Our first club ''Pub Meet'' was held in the North East of England at a local
venue near the city of Durham. The aim of the meeting, which is planned to be
held on the first Sunday of each month, is to promote the existence of the club
and to meet local members. As we arrived all the staff of the Church Mouse came
to the windows and the seven shiny MR2's that turned up caused quite a reaction.
It was great to meet up with some old faces and meet some new ones. Over a very
hearty Sunday lunch we talked MR2's non stop, great!! Being together gave us the
opportunity to discuss club issues. We talked about forthcoming events like the
JAE and Le Mans and discussed local events and March's meeting which is to be a
drive to the Lake District. The first meeting was a success and I'm looking
forward to future meetings where hopefully I will have the opportunity to
meet more of our local members and indeed members from further afield are more
than welcome to attend if they are passing through. Thanks to the people who
turned up and made the day special.
Next meet Sunday 7th April at 11.30am, Don't miss it!
