Hi Barrie, done, thanks.

Looks like this will be getting booked very soon so for anyone considering it get your name down before its maxxed out!

Right then.. its time to stump up the cash moneys

http://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac349/krisgbates/cashmonies.jpg

The idea is that MartinR from MR2OC shares his bank details with the participants & we all send him the £45 by bank transfer

However there is a risk giving money to a stranger from internetforumland so if you are nervous about this then you could go for a more secure paypal option, however that will push things up to £50ish to cover the related fees

Any objections?

Jimbo_Jet
14th July 2011, 06:14 AM
Goooooood afternoon madam! £50, that's a lot of monies! :D

As long as someone from the MK1 club can vouch for him, which I'm guessing you do, then I'm fine with that :)

I have PM'd you all with details of how to pay Martin from MR2OC

He has set a deadline of 31st July

Jimbo_Jet
20th July 2011, 08:50 AM
Ok, I've now paid :)

Will you update the list of people with who's paid so far so we can lean on those who haven't yet? ;)

bill hulme
20th July 2011, 07:42 PM
Bill Hulme has payed £25.

Master-B
20th July 2011, 08:57 PM
Ive paid for me & the boy & updated the list on pg1 to show who from here has paid & who hasnt (dont have visibility of the other clubs)

Jimbo - He has confirmed reciept of your transfer

Doctor/Baz/Julian pls confirm you are still planning to go... Martin from MR2OC has posted the following message on the other forums:

Due to the HIGH level of demand for this, I will be waiting the arranged 2 weeks (deadline 31st July) for deposits... After this time, I will open the forums back up again to 'First Come First Race' basis... So anyone with an outstanding deposit after 2 weeks will chance losing their place to somebody more willing to race :th: I think thats the fairest method of ensuring this goes ahead for the everyone :th:

Jimbo_Jet
21st July 2011, 07:47 AM
Yeah, that's a good idea. We don't want to risk it falling through just because we're waiting on one or two people to pay.

Master-B
1st August 2011, 07:23 AM
Right this is back open on a first come first served basis. I'm led to believe there are 8 places available so get your name down quick if you fancy joining us!

Master-B

3 Spots left... come on people fly the Mk1 flag! I'm too fat to finish on the podium these days, we need some lightweight superstars - doc I'm looking at you!

Jimbo_Jet
7th August 2011, 09:21 AM
Do people's +1's need to be MR2 related? Just I might know a couple of people who might like to come but aren't MR2 owners.

Best let the MK1 owners come forward first tho eh? ;)

Master-B
7th August 2011, 09:07 PM
My +1 doesnt have an MR2. He doesnt even have a full license! Its 1st come 1st served now so if they are interested send the deposit over to MartinR :-D

Cheers, will be seeing them at the weekend but will ask before if I can. When do you need the money by?

Jimbo_Jet
8th August 2011, 11:02 AM
Right, I've got at least one +1 now :)

Can you please put a +1 down for me under the name of Paul Blackledge. I'll pay his £25 deposit direct to Martin myself so could you possibly let him know to expect it? Thanks.

Still waiting to here from my other car-fan friends but think I might get one more person if that's ok?

Ta! - James

Jimbo_Jet
8th August 2011, 07:52 PM
Right, just sent him another £25 deposit under the transaction ID of 'GoKart P.Blackedge'

Spelt his name wrong tho didn't I, it's Blackledge not Blackedge, doh! :D

Might have one more to come but will know tomorrow if there are still spaces free?

Master-B
9th August 2011, 06:36 PM
Hi james, he confirmed he got it this morning. There is still a space left if your other mate wants it

Jimbo_Jet

Hi, yes please! Can you please put down another place under the name of Jonathan Highfield and I'll send another £25 deposit over to him today :) Thanks!

Jimbo_Jet
10th August 2011, 08:16 AM
I've just paid the deposit for Jonathan Highfield now :)

Is that it for spaces now as I've just heard another of my friends would like to come if we're still short?

Master-B
16th August 2011, 08:44 PM
We are down to 19, however it is still very much booked & confirmed.

The 5 "dropouts" are a bunch of imoc people who promised to pay a deposit to Martin... but havent.

I know Gary was thinking of coming with a bunch of his mates from work - Gary if youre reading now is your chance!

Yep all still on

We are meeting at the track for 12.30pm Sunday 9th October (ready to race at 1300hrs - anyone arriving late will miss their races & probably lose their drive - the track will not wait & there are a couple of reserve drivers due to be in attendance)

We will be there for about 2 hours and we will also have the use of a room/bar (for an hour) private to us to let our adrenalin die down before driving to a place for food :th:

Dont forget your £20 payable on the day of event

See you all there, lets teach the tubby turbo drivers what real driving is all about ha ha!

Yep, all good to go! :)

MartinR
5th October 2011, 03:11 PM
Well... Firstly, Thanks to Kris (KGB603) for doing a great job transfering info and whatnot across to here (I dont own a mk1 and therfore dont use this forum all too often ;) ).

If anyone has ANY questions about Sunday, dont hesitate to call or text (Kris has my number, which I allow him to give to anybody attending), or if you prefer, and he allows, go through Kris himself (due to the fact that you know him better).
Also, Bill lives (quite literally) about 50 yards away from me if you cant (for any reason) get intouch with Kris.

Please remember your ID if you look young, they WILL NOT allow anybody they think is underage on the track.

Also, everybody who has paid their deposit of £25 will only need to pay £20 on Sunday... Any reserves will still pay £45 (2 reserves from mr2oc so far to be onsite) and the 1 person who has had to drop out (due to having his appendix out and being unable to drive from stafford) can hopefully get his deposit back...

ANY NO-SHOWS WILL NOT GET THEY'RE MONEY BACK and a reduced "last minute" fee of £25 to the onsite reserves will be charged IF we drop below the minimum of 20drivers due to the no-show.

Sorry for the above text but its needed in this day and age, lol.
See you all on Sunday, 1230 at the track :D

Hi All

I'm sad to say Bill will not be joining us as he was taken ill earlier this week. Im glad to say he is on the mend, but wont be able to drive for the forseeable. Im sure you will all join me in a chorus of "Get well soon Bill!"

So for this event, Bill has arranged for Gary (mk1dal) to take his place. Also a word of advice sat nav is useless at finding this place by post code - better to tell your nav you want to go to slutchers lane, its very well signposted from there :th:

Cheers

Just got back from the karting now. My arms ache and my right hand ribs are sore after an impact but what a fantastic time! :) Chris (KGB603) did the club proud and was the fastest MK1 driver there I think and came 5th overall IIRC. Well done mate!

And here's Chris doing a John McEnroe '..you can not be serious!!' after being black flagged! ;)

Had a great time, thanks to Chris for organising us, but Bill was certainly missed. Hopefully you're on the mend Bill and we'll see you soon.

Cheers - James

Ha ha ha thats brilliant thanks jimbo! 3rd in standings, would have been top if not for the black flag (I think), not sure if it was 5th or 6th in the shootout, either way Ill take that as overweight and out of shape ;-) Great afternoon out everyone had a good time, good banter and *ahem*mostly fair racing... the oc are arranging the same next year & we will be looking at getting some more mk1 members involved. I know Gary has a load of pics and a video or two hopefully he will get them uploaded on here

Ouch!

Ha ha yeah Mrs B can be very loud when she wants to be!

Thanks for the compliments, I'm happy with the overall result as on reflection I reckon I threw the opportunity away when I got black flagged, shouldnt have allowed myself to be drawn into a battle - running 4th all I had to do was maintain it to finish with top points & start on pole for the shootout as would have had 1 more point than the other 2 fellas.

How was Bill today?

Thanks for posting the pics & vid. Here are a few more, stolen off the mr2oc site ;-)

hi Chris , bill is in very good spirits and looking fantastic ,you cant keep a good man down  and he will be back to his youthful, happy and a zest for life self very soon . I've told him to take it easy and is all ready planing new projects after he is 100% fit . I gave everybody their best wishes on his return to heath and told him we are thinking of him . sadly he missed today but there is next year and i'm sure he will kick are backsides . count me in for next year on this event its the best fun Ive had on 4 wheels in ages , but mostly i was on 3 , Barrie's lad said i must have thought i was rally driving has i was drifting more the driving , i took is advice and won my last race :-D , watch out next year mate i will be the blur passing you in full drift  .
