Hello, I have a new car.

I sold my Blue one about 6 weeks ago which has gone through an amazing restoration and is for sale.

I now have a new one. The avatar gives it a clue. You may recognise the car, it was for sale in Ireland but now it is mine :+: :+: :+: . Just drove back, picked it up in West Ireland, drove across Ireland yesterday, stayed overnight near the ferry and drove from Wales today. Now shattered.

Lots of paperwork tomorrow (MOT, registration, Tax etc) but very happy.

For the record it is a Mica red Tin Top supercharger and the colour is stunning when you see it. Excellent condition.

A lot of thanks to all who helped me, especially to Jo (MR2MK1Chick) and Mark (Alpha13) for all the help and really good to see Mark yesterday with his yellow supercharger. Thank you for everything.

(note to self, learn to park straight! or at least don't post photographic evidence on the internet)

Enjoy Kate :+: Glad you got home safe :D If I'm ever over I'll look you up and best of luck
with the car. On the road all day myself, went to look at another project.
Guess I'll never learn  Anyways, enjoy it :+:

Lovely time in Ireland with my dad and SuperMk1 and his wife were very welcoming and lovely.

Really happy with the car (which is currently being MOT's) and great fun and memorable collection. Now need to plan to show it off.

Very nice :+:

Looks like a good choice! Hopefully there are no major MOT issues :D

Major MOT issues?

That would be a yes. Seems like there was a fair amount of corrosion underneath. All fixable and being done as we speak but still frustrating and obviously adding to the bill.

Need to wait another week or so before I can fully enjoy the car but it us worth it. Am going to have it all done whilst fixing the corrosion so some undersealing and waxoyling going on as well

Absolutely stunning car and worth getting it all done.

:D

That's a fantastic car Kate. So pleased you got it as I was really eyeing it up myself. A rare colour, and a great one at that!

Okay, got it all back. The MOT took longer than expected, partly due to more work needed and also to me adding to the 'to Do' list as I went along. Then I had to wait TWO WEEKS for the DVLA to sort themselves out. They said it takes 48 hours, that would appear to be a complete lie.. Anyway, paperwork arrived on Saturday and then my dad ran me around to get the plates made up and then took me to collect the car. Then bopped about in it on Saturday and this evening (Had plans on Sunday for Father's day and the 5 of us won't fit in it).

Anyway here are 4 pictures of it:

Bit of an understatement. It was almost exactly 2 months. Bought it 16th April, got it to England 17th April, took it to Dickersons 18th April. Picked it up 18th June. Over last 48 hours I have spent a lot of time in car port stroking it........

Those photos don't really do it justice, need to practice and learn how to use my camera which is quite a good one.
