I actualy ran the peak district run twice yearly for a while, its quite ironic that you have numbered the names list only to 7 because no matter how hard I tried 7 was the most people I ever managed to get on one run but it was usually 6
due to conditions currently in motor manufacturing I am without a MK1 at the moment, so unless I do some serious training so that I can run behind I'll have to sit this one out
Peak District is well worth making the effort for if anyone is unsure, go on give it a try!! :+:

hi all , the routes have now all been maped and i have test run them again at the weekend, i also found a new road i havent been on before which was oustanding full of twists and turns and i didnt see another car for 10 miles on it :D , i have chosen over 150 miles of routes, outstanding veiws to show the best of the peaks ,and roads the mk1 where made for , i have planed this for 12 months and done over 1500 miles sorting the best routes out so hopefully it will be a great day out . any other mk1 owners wanting to atttend the run please let me know by thursday has i need the approx number of maps to have printed off.

this run will blow the winter cob webs off your mk1 , has tom said ( it would be rude not to ) :+:

lets have a good turn out

Excellent job in organising this Gary!

Let's hope the weather is as glorious as it was the weekend just gone. 8-)

Going to be an early morning to come from York but I might treat myself and come down through Holmfirth. Even if I don't I'll still be doing the Woodheads pass.

Just ignore my unhealthy relationship with the fuel pumps everyone.

See you all bright and early Sunday.

Cheers,
Tom

PS: This is a bit more civilised than the run I was on the Sunday just gone. I'd done 140 miles, had a full English breakfast and was back home for 8:20am!

Looks like it's going to be a good turn-out and stunning weather! 8-)

Well, I'm back at York after leaving home more than 13 hours ago!

What a great day; the scenery, cars, people and of course the roads!

A big thanks to Gary for organising such a spectacular route and doing it all from memory, top class. :+:

I'll see what my video footage came out like and post my pictures up in the next few days. Hopefully there will be some time next time to take people out in my car for passenger rides with it at full boost.

I had a good drive home down some roads that I'll be telling Gary about, along the same sort of lines as to what we'd been doing all day.

Off for a shower now because the wife says I stink of petrol and oil, hehehehe.

Have a nice evening everyone and hope you all get back safely.

hi tom , thanks mate glad you enjoyed it ,phil said we clocked 174 miles from start to finnish , the golden retriever was a star ( he lay in the middle off the road sun bathing and never moved for any of us  ) did any one get a picture of him ,lovely looking dog .then there was the inquisitive chicken going through edale who stopped me ,the little sod only moved after a good blast on the horn  , i did forget a jump on one road and went air -bourne  looked in my mirrors and saw Matthew (Boyzdad) flying through the air ( 10 out of 10 for landing ) brilliant  . i had a great day and was pleasure to show mk1 club owners the true drivers roads of the peaks any very happy with the turn out  ,bill and others who attened are wanting to do the run again later in the year i am up for it :D .

There were some curious animal mishaps along the way. From the golden retreiver with a serious attitude problem, Gary's chicken showdown, and of the course the lesser spotted Mk1 headbutting sheep. Anyhoo, over 250 miles door to door and well worth it.

A great run Gary, well done and thanks.

Thanks Gary for a top day out :) Jack and I really enjoyed it, by the time we got back to Coventry we had done approx 350miles for the day :)

The flying jump was good fun! Would love to have another run out......when my back recovers! ;)

Lots of sideways action on the hair-pins and great fun with the lazy dog in the road and the car "head-butting" sheep ;)

I know Jack has taken lots of Pics and a few Vids, so I guess watch this space!

Off for a shower now because the wife says I stink of petrol and oil, hehehehe.

Funny, that's what my wife said to me and Jack, I tried to convince her is was a proper "MAN'S" smell, but she was not impressed ;) To be honest, I am not surprised we stank so much, we spent most of the drive with the windows down and keeping the revs up :)

I must say I have great respect for "fearless" Fred (and Doris!), he really kept the pedal to the metal, especially the brake pedal when that tractor pulled out in front of him!

Thanks again to Gary, and everyone! :)

Hello,
What a really great day out :+: , I was very happy to see that there were many other Mr2's on the run and they all looked fantastic. The run also went on for much longer than I expected which was brilliant  , as the route itself covered many different types of roads and areas. I did indeed take alot of pictures so here they are (if you want the image in full size view please PM me and send me the link of the image and I will happily send the image you want :)):
Please note these are not in order but all my favourite ones are here:
