Been contacted about some parts salvaged from a collapsed shed, these are in the Bristol area, anyone interested PM me and I'll put you in touch AFAIK they are free, if not wanted they are going to the tip :(

There are four rear light lenses, one headlight, two speedo binnacles, rear visor and a few trim parts that are MR2 Mk1

We could do with a club parts store for rescued stuff like this.
Sadly I don't have space or I would.

It's not the first time I've been contacted through the MR2OC.co.uk with similar offers/finds, mostly manage to find someone for the stuff, sometimes not and it goes to the skip :( Mostly to far away from me to do anything personally :-:
Not that I have the room.
Parts store would be a great thing if someone had the space

That's just it, storage space, unless you're very lucky, costs, one way or the other.

I am however a compulsive hoarder, so i grab it and don't think about how better i could be using that shed/land/loft/garage space.

Andy has quite a hoard there, and it all needs to find a home. I weeded out everything that i was reasonably confident was Mk1, while what was left seems to be a mix of mk2, Corolla and Celica bits.

What i DID leave, that i felt was mk1, was a pair of seats - both in quite terrible condition - wet, filthy and one, the subframe was almost completely devoured by rust, but oddly the fabric looked like it might be salvageable. These are of the 2 contrasting fabric (possibly half suede?) type as fitted in the mk1a - in a black and cream colour scheme. If poss, I'll attach pics. I left them because
1 I didn't have room in the car to take them
2 i don't have anywhere dry to store them
3 i don't have the skill set to rescue the foam or fabricshttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240206/c5fa8075426073b06e0c494fc6c75f54.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240206/e39b4348c8ce332fb3cd57c02cb6724c.jpg

I should point out that the man holding this hoard is quite unhappy and apologetic about the state everything is in - he had no idea of the contents of the shed until the land it is on needed to be cleared for imminent redevelopment, and he looked inside, and realised what it had been concealing. He doesn't expect any money for parts taken - a donation to charity would be his preference.

I haven't even unloaded the car of all the parts I've brought away, but will try to clean up, assess and list what I've recovered. This may take some time. In the meantime, if anyone has desperate need of a particular part, let me know and I'll see if one is in the pile...

Well done for saving the parts  keeps them out the skip (and the hands of some unscrupulous breakers)
The 2 tone seats are definitely 1a seats, the others (with the seatbelt buckles attached definitely aren't MK1, the MK1 buckles are attached to the tunnel not the seat ;)
When he first contacted me he did say he had no idea there was anything in the collapsed shed, it was good of him to go to the trouble of getting in touch with me through the MR2OC.co.uk to offer them up for free  also his son has a MK 2 :+:

I'm glad to hear your went and rescued that stuff. It would have been a shame to have lost them.
