FoXI was built in Japan in November 1984 and first registered on 15th March 1985 in Northern Ireland, two days after the model went on sale in the UK. I believe it to be one of, if not the, oldest registered UK Spec MR2 cars still on the road.

There were two owners in NI before it was brought to the mainland and re-registered on 1st Sept 1988, keeping original registration. There were then a further eight owners before my son acquired it on 31 Jan 2002. After seven months trying to fix some of the many faults on the car, it was passed on to me on 1 Aug 2002 and has remained with me ever since. I have now owned it as long as all the previous owners put together!

In 2008, I started a restoration project on the car that I thought would take six months, it actually took six years!
