View Full Version : MR2 National Day - 2nd June 2019

2nd March 2019, 08:53 AM
Hey all,

Last year MR2 National Day at Hatton Country World in Warwickshire was a really good event. Not least because of the weather!

Its happening all over again in 2019 and I was hoping we can get a better turn out from the Mk1 community this year, last year I think we only managed around 20 Mk1's and we were kind of shoved in the corner and forgotten about.

Who fancies it then? Is the Mk1 Club actively getting behind this event and promoting it?

Mk1 MR2 Enthusiasts,

Was just checking in on this post to see if we had gained any traction and am surprised to see no responses.

As the Mk1 Club are we genuinely not making any effort to organise anything around this event?

It would be great to see the Mk1 represented with better numbers this year!

There last year, will be there this year, great event in nice location
maybee this year the stewards need to place all the mk1 in one location like the mk3
where, but well worth the visit

I saw a post on the MR2 Drivers Club that Mk1 numbers were really small again for this event :-(

Come on people, who else is interested? We have to make sure the Mk1 is represented well!

Sorry, we are on leave. However if anyone hears of a decent body shop in the Midlands/North midlands while there, do let me know. It seems that there is no one in my area[Derbyshire] who has the skills or wants to take on the work]

Iím going to try and make this in the Mk1.5. Do you just turn up or do I need to register before hand?

I counted 45 Mk1's at the National Day yesterday. It was the most Mk1's i've seen in one place for ages.

Some really rare and mint specs on show!

Can the Mk1 Club get behind next years event and see if we can get 100 Mk1's?

Great to meet up with members and new, good to see lots of new interested people who have purchased mk1, all round a great day

Really enjoyed it, met some great people and some beautiful MK1's on show. Real shame the weather couldn't hold out - it was sunny all day down South. So I suggest next year it be held down here! ;-)

It was a really good day out at least until the rain set in. Toyota were there showing off the new Supra which got a lot of attention and it sounded great. Lots of MK1s many in good condition, 2 tone supercharger etc.
