Has anyone taken their car on this track? It is quite close to me and I'm interested in doing the £170 track day on a Friday. Just wondering if anyone has done this and if it is worth doing?

Yep, definitely worth doing!
I did it in an SC many years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Have you done any other track days?

I haven't, to be honest this is my first car with a bit of poke to it. My previous vehicles were ford escort, ford escort van, peogeut 106, fiat seceinto and a Chevrolet Spark! I've had some crap cars! Now I finally have a car I love, I actually love driving now lol!

I think I will defo give it a go then :-)

Castle Combe is great fun, and I would say well suited to a Mk1 MR2. No really long straights where the lack of top speed hampers. Try it, you'll enjoy it.
Ive track day'd my MR2 at Goodwood, but have always used my Seat Ibiza cupra 2.0 16v at Castle Combe.
I'm there tomorrow as passenger in my mates e36 M3 evo as a shake down for a Nurburgring/Spa trip later in the year.

I found the 106 great fun for Autocross racing though! :D (That was a GTI) You're right about the others though. :P
Please do report back!

I would also suggest that if it's your first track experience:
- Don't push too hard too quick. Start off at 6/10ths your capability and work up slowly as you get more comfortable
- Consider paying for an instructor to take you out - you'll learn loads. Though this isn't necessary and I didn't do it till my third trackday but I did have a racer next to me on my first one so I cheated a bit!
- Tyres, brakes you want to be in good condition to get the most out of your day. (Although if your tyres are at end of life that may be fun too as you can power through the corners not caring too much about them) I don't want to scare you but we frequently burned through a set of tyres and brakes in a day... And at least a tank of fuel. I'm a heavy braker on track though. ;)

Most of all, enjoy it!

Thanks for the advice. Luckily all is good on the car as recently serviced etc. Better keep some cash aside for some new tyres after then ;-)
