Organized and led by Pete Mason, you will be following a long line of MR2’s driving through the Kent Weald and Romney Marshes with a stop for lunch at the Pilot Inn in Dungeness, plus a few mini stops along the way. It is a fun and exciting experience and a great adrenaline rush. The event is open to all MR2 clubs and owners so we are anticipating many cars taking part.

The run starts at the Eureka Leisure Park in Ashford adjacent Junction 9 of the M20. Post Code is TN25 4BN. We will be meeting in the car park between Burger King and the Travelodge. The run will commence at 11.30am but please be there at least an hour earlier so we can hand out directions and answer any queries. The total distance of the run is approx 65 miles and it will easily finish by 4.00pm near enough where it started in Ashford so easy access to the M20 for your journey home.

Hi all... the route is changing slightly this year.. we have the problem the first section of road over the years has got bumpirt each year.. so this year calls for a bit of a change..

also here are the post codes for stop points incase anyone gets lost..
Currently works out around 60 miles.. which is about 2 miles less than the old route.. but some new and exciting roads..

we do also have a completely new route going a different way completely which will be run later in the year.. was test run couple years back and is much fun and would love to run it again..

any way this years route..

1st stop.. normally here for around an hour for people to enjoy fish and chips
pilot TN29 9NJ

then next stop will be Worlds wonder TN26 2LU
for just a make sure everyone is together

and finishing at

Am interested in doing this but...it's a 174 mile round trip for and I've not done a drive more than 20 miles in one go since it's been back on the road. Had a handful of problems as well :( Will see how it drives over the next few days.

If anyone makes it on Sunday please come and say hello. This is my Mk1 with a boot rack, that's me in the red cap which I shall be wearing on Sunday and that's my son Mark on the electric scooter, he'll be there as well. You can't really miss us.

I've got an issue where it keeps cutting out still. Cleaning out the AAV worked but now it's gone back to cutting out again.

Will give it a miss mate as the car is just terrible to drive when it's hot, it makes me hate it so I need to get it sorted properly :(

Thanks to everyone that come.. it was a great day. a really good turn out

and the weather really was good. some poeple took some "interesting" route. but as long as everyone had fun

people seemed to enjoy the new route so we shall stick with that

The "interesting" route was just a splinter group of MK1's who were fed up of trying to catch Turbo and V6 MK2's and those hardcore race cars you were in! Nothing to do with going the wrong way at all....:D

My mate came over this morning with a jack and stands and I did crack my front right spring yesterday. Time for coilovers I think :D

We had another great day doing the Kent run with Pete Mason and Ben leading in their Caterham type race cars with everyone chasing after them and others getting lost not just once but twice but we all ended up in the same place as everyone else in the end so we all had an exciting and fun day. See under “Club area meets” South East for detailed report and photos.
