For sale

Only due to incoming import.....

Undecided whether to mothball it as best mk1 I've have by a country mile(4th one).

Private reg currently, not the reg shown.

79k miles
Lots of history
MOT Aug 16
Ronal aero 16's shod in less than 3k miles Nokian winter tyres.
Custom stainless steel exhaust
K&N induction
Momo protipo 350mm/momo boss
Lowering springs
Toyota service up to 40k, private owner service since, recent service.
Dry stored with regular warm up and drives for 4 years by previous owner.
Sills/arches/a pillars/roof/windscreen/floor pan all solid rust wise.

Last owner had for roughly 7 years this year, which he have only covered 10,000 miles.

The car is a joy to drive compared to most modern cars on the road, in good weather is it used daily and has never let me down, 2000 miles nearly done since mid November.
As the car has been dry stored for most of it's life, rust is at a minimal, and has been sorted in the past.
The common faults for these cars are head gasket, rotten arches, rotten impact bars etc. of which this car shows no sign of either of these faults.

Good points:
9 months MOT
79,000 miles (may go up as being used)
Immaculate interior
Drives and handles well
Custom TLE stainless steel exhaust
All new lowering damper springs
Brand new genuine impact bar (OE part)
Full service less than 2000 miles ago, and tune up by Toyota specialist
Have done a manual choke conversion kit (common fault on these)
Toyota front strut brace (OE part)
Clean sills and arches, no rot
Comes with spare reconditioned gearbox
Clutch is good

Bad points:
Small rust spot on N/S rear end (5p size)
O/S rear quarter bubble rust (minimal) - have panel made up already, as had the N/S replaced
2nd gear *slight* notch - 28 year old car! not found it an issue myself
Paint for this 28 year old car is as expected, needs a little TLC
Slight lacquer peel on front and rear bumper and O/S rear quarter light

I am constantly complimented on the condition of the car. The colour of the car is extremely rare along with the single sunroof in place of a T bar style roof.

This car is a proper driver's car and has been taken care of really well, and will be a joy for the new owner. Please take into consideration the age of this car.

Excuse the generic advert in terms of things like rare colour etc, I don't have time to adapt the advert to each specific audience where the advert is placed. cheers

It's a shame to get rid of such a car. If it's as you describe it's a bit of a bargain IMO. And I'd have no trouble parting with a wedge for it. (if I didn't already have one lol)
What car you getting instead?

Yeah I just price my cars to sell, I'm realistic with what I think Mk1's are worth. It is a bargain, but I've had 4 mk1's including a mk1.5 and that accounts for roughly 50% of my car history.

It was a bit of an impulse buy because I fell in love with the colour when I saw it and after losing my WD21 in a recent head on, I lost interest in driving for a bit and just went back to something I knew(a mk1) instead of risking a new car as I just didn't have the enthusiasm at the time.

I'm looking to import another WD21 and I'm currently winning an auction at the mo.

Hi jumpman. That is a lovely car. If it's not sold in a few weeks I'll be 100% interested (with teardrop alloys). Unfortunately I am owed £3000 by my employer at the moment and can't really make the plunge until I know the date they will pay me. I know this will probably sell by then, but just in case!

Hi Miles,

No worries, it's £2495 with the tear drops, not fussed over it going any time soon. It's such fun, really wish I could afford to run purely as a second car but with going to Uni this year to finish qualifying as a Paramedic it just isn't feasible for me.

I know I'll have the urge to get another AW11 down the line and regret selling this but needs must. Having said that I'm in no rush as I said and I'm happy to wait for the price I want.

Thanks for the reply. £2495 seems a decent price for the condition it is in as well as the care you and previous owners have taken. Would you return the rest of the car to stock or just the wheels? Do you still have the stock head unit?

Just priced to sell, I'm realistic over the value of these AW11's though they do seem to be rising especially good one's like this is.

I still have the stock head unit, though the previous owner said it didn't work but when I replaced it, it wasn't plugged in at the back so not sure if it works or not, but I will find out once I transfer the head unit to my new vehicle.

I'm going to leave the K&N on regardless as it's car specific, same with the TRD gear nob. I have a buyer for the Momo Prototipo steering wheel so I may pop the original steering wheel back on. Though I'll leave the MOMO boss for the new owner.

I have the original air box etc and that will go with the car if the new own doesn't want to use the K&N induction.

Thanks for the info. Just a shame I can't commit to anything at the moment. I won't keep my hopes up as I'm sure it'll be snapped up soon, but you never know!

You never know indeed, not a great time of the year to sell, coupled with me being in no rush......stranger things have happened :)

Original alloys, stereo and steering wheel returning to the car over the next couple of days so the price will be £2250, absolute bargain.

Aaron, I had a question on what you were doing with the Private plate. Have you registered the old plate back on the car or is that something I have to do? Just need to know for the insurance, it's all set up I just need to ring them on Saturday and pay and i'll be instantly covered on my multi car. Also got the cash and train ticket sorted just so you know, everything is all set for Saturday.
