As per title I am looking for a aftermarket exhaust for my car,also needed are red mudflaps and ashtray (mk1b),as the lid has come off mine.

May have to go for a custom one then,as I really like the look of a dual exit system.

I'm going to make my own using a mk1 downpipe and HKS muffler.

My janspeed will be for sale then.

How much would you be looking for when you sell?

I need to get it repaired again as it doesn't utilise a flexi pipe, so some welds have cracked. Not an issue having it fixed as it will get done at work.

But only £120

Only picture I could get i'm afraid as the downpipe is currently underneath the middle of the car on the floor.

But other work I had done on it ages ago, was to repack the wadding in the back box - unfortunately the exhaust was built without this wadding. I bought proper exhaust wadding as well and had the one of the perforated pipes fixed as it had a split in it. So now it's actually quieter than it's meant to be.

The top of the back box was cut open and packing added.

There was also a crack found in the back box that you can see has been welded up. The welding was carried out by coded welders I used to work with, who were coded to Nuclear Standards, so they are very good indeed!

So technically I've re-engineered it to be quieter than standard and all that's left is to have the current cack welds, ground out and re-welded.

It's not quiet mate. Janspeeds are notoriously loud.

Did the added wadding you fitted not make much difference?
Sorry for assuming that you had installed the wadding to make the exhaust sound like a stock system,so still interested if still loud.

it reduced the droning noise it made in the motorway but at low down n low gears it's still loud as hell

What were Janspeed thinking not putting a flexi on. Would like to hear it in action. Heard Janspeed on other cars just not on an aw11 before.

My last exhaust was a custom powerflow which had a flexi, but it was too loud! Sounded like a fighter jet coming towards you!

I'm in two minds to get an Elise back box and have a mid pipe made up, or buy a hi-power HKS backbox and again get a mid pipe made up to suit the standard mk1 downpipe. Haven't decided yet, but the car needs to be running first.
