Lovely looking car. Would think it is worth that and more. Don't always care for how people redo the interiors on these, but that looks pretty decent. GLWS.

I'm amazed this hasn't sold.
Come on people! If you have viewed or enquired about this car and are looking, I really don't see a better bargain than this.

Remember, this car is one of the few that will be 30 this year too.

It's a beauty, but it's also pretty individual and not a bog-standard fixer-upper. Cars like that take a bit longer to find a buyer, but whoever does buy it will be very happy. The interior is very special.

It does make me laugh really that this car hasn't gone , the inertia alone would cost the best part of a grand and i know what Kris has spent on this car and its more than 1500 pounds on servicing and parts and to me at the end of the day its only 2 weeks wages for a classic sports car its nothing for the amount off fun you can have in them . i would buy the car in a flash ( its not rust or corrosion effecting certain areas of the paint work ) but I'd know i would be ripping a good mate off hence i haven't brought it , the price is far to cheap mate .

Yep. I've spent thousands on it over the last 5 years, probably knocking on the door of £10k all told. Weirdly the blistering isnt as bad today. It's disappeared completely in some areas and not as prominent where it is still visible. I think the warm weather today has influenced it somehow...

Its the cold garage effecting it mate a blast in a oven would cure most of it , its done it in the past and come show season ( warmer weather ) there is no blistering on the paint work .i would keep it for the money its up for its not worth selling , its worth more broke I'm afraid to say .

Great pics. Better representation of it now I think. But even so can't believe it hasn't sold yet. Considering how prices seem to have been on the rise over there lately makes it even more mysterious.

Cheers. Would have taken them sooner but generally rubbish weather meant it wasn't possible...

Hello!,
Good luck with the sale remember it been a lovely car! :) Wish I had the money :( I still miss my black MR2 since selling her last summer :( Me and dad met you a few years back at Tatton Park, still have a few photos of the two '2's at the time. Wish I still had it, but she needed a bit of work and I just didn't have the money at the time (still have a TR7 engine powered Triumph Dolomite that's eating up my money) ;)

Mixed feelings for sure. The buyer is a former mk1 owner & has been on here in the past, username doctor924. A quick Google shows he is a bit of a petrolhead... Matras, Porsches, Fiereos etc so while it is a shame to see it go, I'm happy in the knowledge it's going to a good home :-)

I'm picking it up from Kris next week. I have been looking for a modern classic that was in great shape to run as a weekend/occasional use car as I have little time to restore cars any more. I ran an 89 mica blue mr2 for a while back in 2010 that was a great drive but rust in the usual places. Had lots of other modern classics to.

Admittedly it'll never sell for that but honestly, what an ar**hole. They spin you a line "ooh I've been looking for ages for a decent car for weekends and a bit of fun", then the next minute it's up for sale!

I'd like to think there's a perfectly good reason for obtaining £8.5k profit after 6 weeks of ownership, lol, but. . .

Picaro

What a shame. Takes a close-up of a rear mudguard and can't even be bothered to detail it beforehand. Nice to see these people are the same everywhere, lol.

Mutley00
5th May 2015, 04:46 PM
It just seems odd - he's made 46 posts on here and then he looks to make £8.5k profit on a car in just over a month.

Could be an evilBay scam, so we'd better not cast too many aspertions just yet, as I presume the purchaser/now vendor 'doctor924' is still on here & may have a valid explanation.

Why on earth would you swap it for an X19 - and we think MR2s rust! Thankfully MR2s dont have old Italian electrics either!

jimi
6th May 2015, 03:28 PM
Nothing wrong with the X-19, I had one for years, rust was it's only downside :( It was the search for another one many years later that led me to the MK1 ;)

all gone now to the might rust, the italians new how to build a car !

I know we're a montecarlo is in London been on the guys drive for years won't sell it apparently.
Oh and my cousin had an x19 always wanted one to fit a fiat punto turbo engine into, one of those went in the scrapage scheme at a local Renault dealers were my mate worked he begged the guy to sell him it as it was rust free, but the guy wanted the 2k of a new Renault shitbox.

There are alot of these type of people about - the hoarders that wont sell or throw anything away. There is an Escort Mk1 RS1600 that has been rotting on a drive near us for about 30 years. I keep asking about it and he keeps insisting he's going to restore it - well until last time I called when its now his son that's going to restore it.

Then you see the state of the inside of their house and you instantly know 'u urgh - hoarder'. Its beyond salvage now, but my mate wants the twink out of it. I've tried subtlety - next tack will be to shoot from the hip!

Snowtigger
7th May 2015, 10:39 AM
Even rusty crusty cobweb twincams go for seriously stupid money, I'm a hoarder trying to give it up as I've got a 1964 triumph vittesse 1.6 I need to sell before it ends up a mound of rust along with 3 other mk1 mr2
