My MK1 is up for sale

Its a 1989 Sunroof model in Mica Blue. The paintwork is in good condition for the age, there are odd marks and small dings but it is nearly 25 years old after all!

The car has covered 140k but I'm sure it'd cover another 140k! 10 months MOT, months tax. The car regularly returns 35mpg, worst I've ever seen is 30mpg.

The car has been sensibly modified, spec as follows:

15x6.5" Watanabe RS-8 Wheels (I have 5x teardrops with tyres too)
Yokohama AD08R Tyres (covered ~2k miles)
Eibach Pro Springs
KYB Shock Inserts
Scorpion Exhaust (custom tips)
Jimi Bracket
Manual Choke Conversion (no silly idle!)
EBC Yellowstuff Pads all round (covered ~1.5k miles)
Supercharger Rear Light Panel

The car really needs to be driven to be appreciated, I had it aligned neutrally so it has a beautiful balance to the handling and once the brakes have had a few presses they have serious bite, I replaced the brakes all round at the same time so they are well balanced.

Parts/servicing in my ownership:

Full service 4k ago - plugs, air filter, oil filter, fuel filter and oil. New waterpump and drive belt 1k ago.

The car has 5 previous owners, I have some old MOT's but not much paperwork for the history. Its quite clear its been well looked after by the condition and how well it runs.

I have owner this car for a year in July, bought it of a well known and reputable member on here (Brawr). He replaced the steering rack, some bushes, the clutch, cambelt and a lot of other parts. I know its also had a replacement gearbox and rear arches at some point too. I have looked after it, and I always get lots of attention and comments from passers by. I did a track day at Blyton in October 2013 and couldn't have been happier with how it performed, it didn't miss a beat!

Couple of bad points (every car has them!)

I believe in an honest sale so I'll mention the only couple of bad bits... I SORN'd and garaged the car Nov-Mar but unfortunately a bit of rust has come through on the bottom of the nearside wheel arch:

Its also got a scuff on the front bumper, always been there but is presentable:

Other than this, this car is solid - there's no rust in the usual places such as arches, nose cone, sills and inside the doors. And the sunroof is bone dry. The insurance is mega cheap even with
modifications I'm paying £209 a year! I'll let the pics do the talking (nicked some of your pics Brawr!)...

Can remove the Watanabes and stick the teardrops on for a cheaper price, the Teardrops aren't in bad nick but are my no means mint.

Wow really nice looking motor. I really want a dark blue one! Best looking colour in my opinion. Good luck with the sale, I hope hope it stays within the club.

By the way what M3 you looking for? Always fancied an E46 myself, but then children happened! =/

Thanks, its a lovely example.

Was looking for an E46 M3 but decent examples are few and far between at the moment, I've found a mint E36 M3 (even been magazine featured!) not seen in the flesh yet but hopefully if all is good will be bringing back with me on Fri!

If you decide to sell the Watanabes on their own, can you let me know what you want for them please.

Many Thanks

Price massively reduced

My search for an M3 ended after I couldn't find a decent one in budget so went with a sensible option and bought a Civic Type R, I was all for keeping this but since I've had the Civic I've driven it once! Would rather let it go cheaper as is but if it doesn't sell on the current wheels this time I am having the tear drops sprayed and it will be up for sale on them.
