I sold a set a few years ago, maybe they are the same ones.

I am interested in them but its way too far to collect for me. I could do with a nice set for my Super Edition as mine need some repair work. So I have messaged him to see if he is willing to post. wont be cheap I feel.

If i was closer, or at least heading that way, I would pick them up for you but i have no plans at present..sorry.

Good luck, i hope you get them. A Super Edition wouldnt be the same without them! Besides, when i buy your Super Edition one day in the future, i want them in it lol

Haha won't be selling my SE anytime soon. It's having a full engine rebuild.

Re the seats looks like they will be sold for a lot more than 250 as it already has a bid on. Will a bid war be on the cards for these. Could go anywhere near 450 I guess

autobody

£300+ already. Might as well just repair my original super edition seats. Probably cost me about £100 to fix it.. my driver side seat has a rip in it.

Blimey! Sounds like it will be a lot cheaper to repair!

As you already have the door cards, you could look out for a pair of these......they are the same. Just the runners have to change but that should be very simple.

Looks like the starlet turbo also used them!

I've been looking for the Hilux recaros before as well!

Yeah you are right to some extent. I have owned both (original SE seats and the seats from the Toyota 4x4) the seat and fabric are identical but the seat reclining knob is a bit different. I did try and swap them over but it was a lot of work. Had to take most of the mechanism out. The reclining knob comes out a bit more on the 4x4. Which will make it tight to adjust if in a mk1 as the seat is so close to Tue door. Hope you know I am trying to say.

Hmmm ...not far from me and would love to put them in my car. Tempted to enter the bidding but think the price is just going to go too high and all I'll succeed in doing is driving it up further.

i reckon itll hit 600 - i was tempted but i could buy a set of wheels that i want for that amount :(

I sold my seats with door cards for £500 4 years ago. But back then there was only 1 person interested in them and he was living down south... I think these are the ones I sold.

Don't think I will bid anymore. I emailed the seller about postage, and if he does not get back to me in the next few days I will have to cancel my bids. So you never know Alex you might get it cheaper.

oh is that you outbidding me?! haha

I'm on the prowl for a set of Proton Satria GTi seats - I think they look just as good for a fraction of the cost - Of course they're not SE but...

I'm happy to drive down there, but not for £600, which is likely the way its going atm.

I'm willing to stretch to £450

I can't go any higher.

So sorry Autobody, I may not be able to get them back for you :(

Call me cynical but I can see them being relisted due to time waster.
Whoever is chasing the bids, wants them really bad!

Agreed, and there is still 3 days left!

superwhite90
28th March 2014, 03:58 PM
I bid up to £485

I was hoping that the chap who is also bidding will mess the seller about and end up not collecting them *fingers crossed*

I'll see how they are looking on Monday and decide what to do.

I sold a set for £500 a few years ago. So they were never going to sell for 250. I think its the door cards push the value up, also its a straight fit. No need to be messing about with runners, welding and grinding.

You never know Alex. No point bidding more until the last few seconds and put in your max bid. If you don't win, you never know they may be in sale again in a few months time.

Lots of people are getting the cars ready for summer. After summer we will see a few bargains

superwhite90
28th March 2014, 04:12 PM
I've got some standard SC door cards spare which I may get recovered or something if I can find a company who can do that sort of thing. Or maybe have the inserted changed.

It's just really annoying as I've always thought the interior is dull and those seats would set it right off!

Even the fishnet head rests would make it look better...

autobody
28th March 2014, 04:32 PM
These seats are so much better. Not as comfy as standard seats but more supporting. Honda type r seats are better than the SE seats but good ones sell between 300-600. The fish net head rest do give the car that retro 'look' especially from the rear window

superwhite90
28th March 2014, 04:40 PM
Wonder if you can get the na head rests fishnetted

Wow, those are gorgeous! Good luck ever finding another set in that kind of original condition. Yeah, you can get virtually identical ones that were made as generic fit, but can almost never find the actual ones. Plus they have not made that center section fabric for years, so pretty much impossible to repair those sections with identical cloth these days.

superwhite90
31st March 2014, 07:58 AM
Yeah I saw those Gary but I'd want to proper genuine seats.

superwhite90
31st March 2014, 08:18 PM
Didn't win, but the seller said that a couple of bidders entered even though they couldn't collect so i'm hoping that they drop out and he offers them to me.

Highly doubtful though, but hey ho.

They look great, lovely seats. We've got a set from a Hilux Surf which we will use in the Tin-Top Mk1.5 we are currently building.
