have thought about stripping(?) but I want an original look with very crisp lines around the cut outs. It expensive to get some done. I would go down this route if I could fine a set of undamaged original tear drops but they are all kerbed these days.

Just remember that diamond cut alloys suffer from corrosion really badly, but if you powder coat them they shouldn't have to be done ever again.

I disagree mate! Mine have been polished for eight years! As long as you keep wax on them they don't corrode !:)

I haven't seen any for years Kev, you may have to buy a few sets of teardrops & pick the best ones out & have them done, having said that Wheel refurbers have come a long way over the last 10 years., Jinxy

It may be time for the 3 spokes to make way for the long neglected teardrops. I'm into OEM but perhaps I could get away with the polished finish that Mike's has or the diamond cut alloys from the Special Edition. Decisions ? . . .

:-) They've always been marmite wheels. Seems to split people down the middle.

I think they look retro, really go well with the angles of the AW11. polish one of your teardrops up and see how it looks, I think you will like it! Minilights next for mine I think!

Forthcoming changes to the MOT test could spell an end for the 3-spoke alloy wheel, PetrolBlog has learnt. Under the planned new Style and Decency section of the annual MOT test, 3-spoke alloy wheels could be driven off the road, with any car wearing them receiving an instant failure notice.

This is bad news for motorists with poor taste, but excellent news for the rest of us who have been forced to live with the terrible spectacle for far too many years.

“The MOT test looks at a car’s roadworthiness, but it’s time it was revamped to take into account matters of common decency, too. The 3-spoke alloy wheel is a lesson in bad taste, so any car arriving at a testing station rocking the 3-spoke look will receive an instant failure notice, with the owner given a free Specsavers eye test voucher.”

:-)

The hoses certainly looked good from the pictures. I'm going to buy a kit but in black and change them along with the thermostat and coolant change.
