Unfortunately, We can't really say we're surprised at all though.

At least it didn't get stripped for parts!

Thanks chaps you've made my day!! I saw this ad on Gumtree http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/mr2-mk1-supercharge-project/1048035299recently and have been trying to contact the vendor for a while. I dismissed it originally as the vendors name at the top of the ad was Xavier and then in the ad itself it was Jason Wong, so thought something didn't stack up. Then saw the ad on evil bay this morning and assumed it was a tidy car and just needed a good clean and someone was up for making £3k profit in 2 weeks! The car is well known and a tad rusty then?

Whoever bought it was getting a bargain whatever they decided to do with it! The price it's up for at the minute is a bit top heavy, but if they're not in a rush, it may well sell for close to that.

Cheers,
Tom

Cheers,
TomI looked at this ad when it was in the multi storey & I thought it was poss being sold off while the owner was away maybe without his consent but maybe that's just my suspicious mind(said Elvis).

Just console yourself with the thought that 99 times out of 100 you would have been right Dusty!

Got to agree with that Tom, was originally under priced but with no MOT it should be... worth over 2.5k easy with mot and tax if the rust was minimal. I sold my last one for near 4k but that was a very good example and with good upgrades.

I spent days trying to communicate with the seller of this car trying to get to see it...... it was like pulling teeth and I gave up in the end....
Not dealing with the registered keeper also put me off.......
Shame someone only bought it to profiteer out of it though.... hopefully it'll find it's way back into the care of an enthusiast.

Looks like the high price did not go down well and the rust is explicitly mentioned.
