As above unfortunately the deadly tin worm has taken over my mr2 mk1.5
so firstly i am advertising it as a whole car for re-shelling unless someone wants to repair and is good at welding

I really don't want to be the one to take it apart after building it, i don't have the want in myself or the time to re-shell it as i am getting into my trackdays quite heavily at the mo (so if you have a worthy track car as a swap?)

full build thread is here
http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=166096

but it is fully ready to just put in another mk1 and go.. loads of extra spare bits which i will sell off seperatly if offered less..

i will break it if required but rather it went as a whole..

Engine - Toyota MR2 Mk2 Turbo Engine -Revision 2 3SGTE Engine with Rev 3 Metal Head Gasket, ARP Head Stud, Rev 1 ECU, Rev 2 Gearbox with LSD, SBits 255l/hr fuel pump, Japspeed Boot Mounted Intercooler, Induction kit, Custom Pipe Work, Custom Exhaust with a Berk 3" de-cat, GTSChris boost controller running 14Psi, SBits fuel cut defender, SiLeck Motorsport Custom Wiring,

Interior - Standard Mk1 Dash, boost gauge, Mk2 Half Leather Seats, Codde Steering Wheel.

Suspension & Brakes - Apex lowering springs, New Shocks, WMS 4-pot Front Brakes, Goodrich Braided lines.
mk2 rear ARB (not yet fitted)
interior is in good condition just holding the parts at the mo
side skirts are off at the mo but are with the car
basically a full mk1.5 running car with chassis rot (see below for pics)

currently brake lines disconnected and exhaust is not on it, as was working on it when found the rot, so will need to be trailored away
mot till august

I'm asking as it sits 1500 with everything.. which i think is fair.. offers welcome.. if i get a offered less will sell some bits like the poly bush etc separate..

as it sits right now..

Damn Pete! Really not what I want to be reading. I'm gutted for you mate!

Are you going to use the money to fund another project?

If it's still available in a month's time, I may be very interested.

Cheers,
Tom

tell me about it mate :(

honestly at the moment i want to do track days.. so its going to be something very cheap, light, simple, not huge engine and a bit more modern.. strip it thrash it round track
which is what i was going ot use the 1.5 for.. but never mind..

Ah, Pete. Sorry to read this. Building these cars takes a fair amount of work and you did a great job. I was looking forward to seeing this one too. I think Lee's mk1.5 shell recently sold but that would be a perfect donor for this. Might be worth finding out who has it now?
If no-one takes it and you end up breaking I'd be interested in the brakes and rear ARB but hopefully someone will take the lot off your hands.

Good luck with whatever takes it's place.

thanks peoples...
i am considering a mk3.. but whatever it is will stay engine pretty much standard t be nice and reliable on track...

ill keep you in mind ben for parts.. i havea few asking questions.

just when you try and undo a bolt and the crack where the crank pulley is gets larger you know its definatly getting past the point for me to be happy

Thats a shame about the rust Pete and after all the hard work whats gone in to the car its far far to good to break . Going off what you have done in the past i think you could fix it no problem, i know i could repair it very easily as it doesn't look bad to me at all going off the pics . have a rethink then get stuck in and fix the bugger your more than capable .

after speaking with patrick and peter gidden sounds like basicall the drivers side chassis leg back is knackered..

but if you fancy it.. its here and ready to be fixed.. just to much for me
had enough of chasing rust and snapped bolts.. being out in the weathers.. i just want to thrash something round track

Really sad to read this mate. Had no indication of the rot you mention when i saw it at Birmingham.

This car is way too good to break. Surely there must be someone that can take this on and give a great car a new lease of life?

Hope you have better luck (and reliability) with the next one!

Unfortunately it seems hard to shift these cars. Was about to scrap mine and now somone has bought the shell with a lot of good parts still on for £300. Took ages though.

aim for a newer mk3 or a one which has had a recon engine as you may end up with an oil burner like I have :s

Sorry to see your mk1 in such a sad state, the only drawback of these cars is their age and the issues that come with that. Hope it is saved

great news on the mk1, has it gone to a club member?

what year mk3 did you get? sold my silver W reg one yesterday to a trader for £1.2k, they are nice cars but, for me at least, not as nice to drive as the mk1, and not as well made either

i got really good deal with my mk1.5 for an early x reg mk3..
its coming to mine and will be getting rid of pre-cats etc..
not too worried as can get another engine etc as do all my own work so may look at a 190 conversion at a later date..

It is just going to be stripped and thrashed round track so can use a bit of oil.. ill just top it up.. but seems to be all good so far.. gets delivered to my house tomorrow eve
