Bought the car last Monday.

Was a bit busy all week so I didn't manage to get the Car Tax etc sorted till Friday, so it sat in the garage all week.

Finally took it out on Saturday and snapped a few pics before I set off. Was midday so the lighting is a bit harsh.

Mods(as per the previous owners ad):
180mm NST Crank Pulley
Magnex Stainless Steel Exhaust
Eibach Springs
Adjustable Shocks
Whiteline antiroll bars, front & rear
Polybushed
Front Strut Brace
Brake Master Cylinder Brace
Braided Hoses
Momo Steering Wheel
A/C, Radio & Speakers Removed

The engine is lovely to listen too, but I'll probably re-install a stereo.

I'm not really much of an audiophile so not entirely sure what route to go, probably just a headunit and some speakers(though I'm tempted to just take what's in my T-Bar and put it in here).

Next I have to decide what to do with the T-Bar, really don't want to sell it but I don't have the space to keep both. might try and find a garage to rent with a view to doing some work on it in the next year or 2.

Looks like a nice example :+:

Futureproof yourself & get a DAB headunit & aerial/aerial adaptor, last I read was they intend to do it in 2015 which isnt that far away at all! Plus in a mk1, tuning into absolute 80's should be mandatory :D

Would I need a new aerial for DAB?

I know I can live without a CD player, was thinking of getting head unit with bluetooth so I can stream from my phone. I could probably live without radio if they make the changeover, might be able to use spotify/internet radio if they do.

I have a few 80s bands on my playlist, but I don't think I have the shoulderpads for 80s radio :p

Not necessarily, you can get DAB adapters for your existing aerial for about £25. Im a cheapskate, so used the windscreen mounted film aerial that came with my headunit. Its very discrete & took 10 mins to fit including measuring up, removing and refitting the a-pillar trim and glovebox to channel the wire behind the dash & into the centre console. Easy to do & works great.

Thanks, I'll look into a DAB radio then, any recommendations?

To be honest it depends what you want them to do & how deep your pockets are. Ive got a kenwood in the mr2 and a jvc in the camper. They are much of a muchness specification wise... Am\fm\lw, Dab+, cd\mp3, usb, aux, iphone control, but the jvc controls are generally more intuative & it has a remote control (which is why its in the van). Both were on sale in halfords earlier this year as end of line jobs, £80 each down from £200+. You can get plug in bluetooth upgrades for them for about £20. Best thing to do is go & have a look whats out there, you dont need to spend a lot to get a good one but there are a lot of cheap and nasty ones on the market too.
