White Mk1 for sale in south east Kent

Hi All,

Hope you don't mind me signing up to advertise my Mk1. I've been lurking the forum for a while and thought I'd see if I could give the car a good home before it goes on ebay.

The car is an 88 E reg sunroof model in white. Just passed its MOT (only 1 advisory being a light misting of oil around one of the dampers) so has a ticket until December 2013. Taxed until August 2013.

The car was my daily driver for 2 years and never gave me a single problem. The engine and gearbox are strong (no jumping out of 5th or anything like that) and there are no mechanical issues with the car. Still handles like it's on rails and I shall miss it greatly!

The car had a new rear arch fitted by the previous owner due to rust. The remaining rust on the arches is restricted to a bit of bubbling and surface rust as well as a patch underneath one of the skirts (see pics).

Other bad points include a heater that is slow to warm up (probably an easy fix but never got round to it). The driver side window / door seal is in need of replacing - there is a fair bit of noise caused by this and I believe it also contributes to misting / condensation / ice on the inside of the windscreen after a cold night. The wheels have seen better days and could do with a refurb. The car also idles rather high on cold starts (2000+ rpm) but this may be normal.

EDIT - I've just realised I forgot to include the mileage. The car has covered approx 125,000 miles.

Thanks Tom. Like I said in the original post there's a few niggles with it which is the reason for the price. Unfortunately I don't have the time or know-how to fix them myself but I'm sure someone knowledgeable will be able to bring the car back to it's former glory without too much work.

Pete, let me know if you are interested. I would much rather have it go to a good home than have to stick it on ebay and am open to offers.
