Sorry it’s taken so long to upload these photos. This really is the first chance we have had.
From memory there was a bad weather forecast for the day but fortunately the rain held off until late afternoon when the show had finished. Despite having arranged and paid for 20 cars, 14 of which were from the Mk1 club only 8 cars from the club actually turned up. To say we were disappointed is an understatement and despite the promise from those who didn’t turn up to pay the fee that was paid in advance we have only received payment from one person. As a result of this things will have to change next year!

Nice pictures Alan. Thanks for organising a great day. We were so lucky with he weather and great to see everyone, including old Club mates on other stands ...Jinxy with his 944 and Pete Kyte with his MX5.

Think it's really outrageous that anyone who committed to go didn't pay if they couldn't be there. Remember some years ago I was rushed to hospital the night before a Show. They kept me in. You didn't ask ...but I mailed you the money as soon as I got out!

(Alan uses his own money to buy the tickets).

Thanks for the post Andy. Yes it is very disappointing when people don't bother to a) turn up to an event they comiited to come to, b) don't bother to say/applogise why they didn't come (although Karl did tell me before hand that he was unwell) and c) consider that because they didn't go they don't have to pay. As a result it cost me £40 for the Bromley show in tickets. That is why it isn't going to happen that way again next year. I haven't decided how to play it next year other than to say I will not let this happen again.

I would like to start by saying sorry alan that i have not sent you you £5 , i did say i would but with things that have gone on recently it has slipped my mind and i appologies for that and if you could email me your address i will get that sorted , but as i explained to you alan i was on my way to the show and about 5 miles from home my rear brakes started to smoke where they had seized. i then had to walk back to my house and contact a friend with a car trailer to come and help collect the car. the last thing on my mind was to email you to tell you i could not make it.I have now had the rear brakes rebuilt from the handbrake back( ANY INSPECTION IS WELCOME) As you know alan i do turn up to shows and meets if i say i will be there but sometimes things are beyond me, and andy know the facts before you bitch off.

Sorry for any offence. Very much not intended and merely to draw attention to Alan being out of pocket. Not seeking to judge individual people or circumstances in any way.

Be good to shake hands and move on from this at next meeting.

Bitch off? Thats not very nice Barry.
Actually I sent you my postal address in an email I sent you shortly after the show. I'm afraid I can't send you another email because I have deleted all your details from my records. If you really want to send me a cheque, all my details are listed in the back page of the club magazine.

You will still be able to get information about club events from the club magazine and from posts on this web site.

bitch off ? thats what people do when they dont know the facts alan. i think its a bit childish to have deleted my details but thats what has made you happy good for you. your details must have been deleted by accident during the time i was trying to run my bussiness look after my son while my 18 month old daughter was fighting for her life in hospital but thanks for pointing out your address is in the back of the club mag and glad to see the club is so friendly and forgiving when thngs just are'nt going your way.

Calm down lads, from the outside looking in youre having a pointless spat. DD youve got a valid excuse and you have said youll still pay ASE. Im sure he wishes others would do the same!

Barry, This is my last post on the matter. My point is if you had paid when you said you would we would not be having these discussions now.

Its not very often these days that i post on here... & its for this very reason, i find it disgusting that a club stand organiser has to go begging cap in hand for pitch fee's all this time after the event !! Alan is his own worst enemy because he does it all for the love of the club & its members & shame on those still to pay for exploiting that fact & even more shame on the club for not subbing the event in the 1st place !!, there is no way any organiser should foot the bill for a club event. If im wrong on any of the above im happy to be corrected, but at the end of the day Alan is still out of pocket in the name of the Mk1 Club... & that cant be right !!... sorry for the moan, but this is yet another reason why so many regional organisers have stood down in the past... some things never change eh ?,. Jinxy

i did say i would send the money but other things came up and it slipped my mind, a simple e-mail reminder would have helped but the damage has been done now.
