hi , Of all the runs we did last year THIS WAS MY TOTAL FAVORITE . there was one stretch which was mental and very very long it reminded me so much of the cat n fiddle and so much better and has stuck in my mind as a truly pure drives road , if you don't drive your mk1 on this trip it hasn't been driven to its full potential, a truly top day out and one i am not going to miss . get my name down for this run bill its fantastic .

Results now in - 5 MK1s = 1,691 miles (ave. 338.2 miles per car) - by comparison just about the same as driving London to Moscow!

I have not got Rick's result yet but that would by MK2 miles.

Cant wait to see Rick's in car video clips.

Hi Guys,

Brilliant day out, this is definitely a drivers' club. Massive thanks to Graham for organising it having having me along.

I didn't take note of my miles I'm afraid, but I did zero the clock when I fillet up the night before the run so I should be able to get the rough figure next time I get a look at the car but it wont be for a while.

I had a look through the videos last night, it's a poor camera but I got some really good footage!! I think it will be Wednesday before I get anything on line so sorry to keep you all waiting in anticipation. I will crop down a few snippets and stick them on you tube and put the whole lot in a drop box that you can all have access too and down load.

Ok, here is a quick one I uploaded last night to wet your appetites at the expense of a little ear ache for ignoring the Mrs to do more 'car stuff'. I'll get some more up while she's not around.

The quality is poor, but it's good enough for you tube. That's Gary in front of me, which probably explains why he's too far away to make out. It get's twisty about 0:23.

The camera was just changing files when Gary had to dodge a sheep and this is all it caught I'm afraid...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuqDlCYorEI&feature=plcp

Keep checking back and I'll get some more up, probably on Wednesday

I turned it on every time we got to some twisties so there will be some. I'll have another look though them now and see if I can upload some more. I have a very slow upload speed to I'll leave some going over night and post up the link tomorrow.

BTW, my car has 318 on the clock.

Lakelad
3rd July 2012, 10:20 PM
Total mileage including Rick's Mk2 ( 5 x MK1 1 x Mk2) = 2009 miles (ave 334.8 per car)

Rick McRick
3rd July 2012, 10:48 PM
6 more short vids uploading now so hopefully be able to post the links some time tomorrow.
I'm just sticking the high lights on your tube and I'll find a way to just make the raw footage available for down load to anyone who wants to look through the whole lot.
