Hi folks, anyone remember the famous Buddy club front lip for the Mk1 that used to be available many moons ago? No longer in production i decided to produce this replica that is the same as the original BC lip except it is now a two piece design exactly like the OEM Mk1b lip is.

This means it will fit perfectly and bolt on to the factory bolt holes.

You cannot buy this lip anywhere, they are the holy grail of Mk1 bodykit parts, a more aggressive and beefier styled version of the Mk1b lip this design has proved extremely popular in Japan and the US.

It will also fit a Mk1a with slight modification, more on that below.

For now here is the original lip fitted to a Mk1....

Here is the Woodsport replica version in new two piece form, ignore the Mk1 it's bolted to, it's just a scrap car i use for product testing...

As you can see our version has the two piece OEM join, just like the Mk1b lip...

This is a quality product with perfect fitment (assuming your Mk1 front end is straight!)

The lip will only require light sanding of the gelcoat surface before painting.

To get this lip to fit onto a Mk1a will require this area removing, very straight forward....

This lip is not cheap to produce so it does have a bit of a price tag, but for those that know what it is they are buying will know they are impossible to get hold of. Quite simply the best looking aftermarket lip you can get.

They are £190 each and £20 postage, i'm currently running a group buy on Twobrutal and we have 3 confirmed takers, if we can get that number to 10 the price will come down to £170 per lip and £20 postage.

Any questions just ask, thanks Paul.

I should add, if you wish to order one on the current group buy please add your name below... production time will be around 2-3 weeks depending on how many final orders we get, i'm putting one on my own project car with flared arches, this was the pre 2 piece version... and i still have work to do in the arch area.

Actually you're in luck, one of the US buyers is messing me around, so you could take his lip if you want. You are still entitled to the £20 saving so if you could send £190 to paul@woodsport.org that would be great. I am sending them all out this week.

Thanks Paul.

I'm running another group buy on these, last time 17 were sold, so i've managed to get a better deal on the molding costs, this time around they are £180 posted but that will drop to £165 posted if i break ten takers, so far i have 5 confirmed orders for this group buy.

Stick your name below if you fancy one, they are currently being molded so full completion will be 2-3 weeks time.

I'll be having one soon just need to earn some more money for the toy fund. What do you recon to fibre glass front valance's for the mk1b as you cannot buy the n/s from toyota any more.

Woodsport

Not a bad idea really, there are a lot of body parts Toyota are abandoning that could do with being made in FG.

what do you think this would look like with the styleauto rear bumper?

Woodsport
24th February 2013, 08:36 AM
I'm not sure, this is more subtle than the styleauto rear, i have this lip on my own Mk1 and i'm thinking about doing the same with the rear except cut out the grilled section, i think it could work very well like that.

I was thinking of painting the rear grilled section black with the bumper being white? love the idea of cutting it out except i don't have a beasty exhaust like the one in your pic on imoc just a magnex.

How much would it be for the front lip and rear bumper?

Also that carbon fiber spoiler you've made looks great and would that be something you'll make for others?

Woodsport
24th February 2013, 11:00 AM
I'm afraid the carbon rear spoiler is a on off, it would require too many molds to be made and also welding needed to a boot lid, just too complex i'm sorry to say.

The website price for both is £385 without delivery, i'd be able to do those for £350 as a Mk1 club member, delivery is possible on the front lip but the rear is tricky due to its size, is collection possible for you?

jumpman33
24th February 2013, 11:17 AM
Not easily, what I may do though is plan a few days up near you in the summer and if possible maybe you could fit and paint them?

Woodsport
24th February 2013, 11:26 AM
Fitting and painting wouldn't be possible i'm afraid, i have such a long waiting list for my engine swaps at the moment. I can organise a courier for the bumper but it's a case of finding one that will do it at a sensible price, the bumper is very long and exceeds most couriers maximum dimensions.

I can try though.

Well looking to purchase after MOT in april as a prezzy for the car :)
May well just go for the front lip first,i can do that myself and then try find someone good to fit rear bumper then purchase that after.
