Is there something wrong with it? Spares or repair?!

I'd love to have it, but the driveshafts are different :(

The gear box had a 1200 pound rebuild by one of the previous owner, and the box was mint, then the box got sold and the new owner had a LSD installed. Then when he got the box ready to fit in the car it was not so good.

These boxes in good working order can sell between 300 to 500 a few years go... Not sure about now. but this box is an absolute bargain for someone who just wants the lsd, or if they have the know how they could fix it.

what is the LSD in it ? standard Toyota one ?

It does not look like a standard one, as they have a bar in the hole. This has no bar but has a lot smaller hole. Could be TRD or another make.

Just curious mate as to why you've relisted it for more when you didn't get a bid for it in the first place?

People may not be interested as you need the bigger driveshafts too as these are a pain to get hold of.

Because I think 100 is too low for a rare box like this. Yes the box is not in working order but its the LSD what people want. And its the LSD that is worth a few quid. I will get a lot more if I just took the LSD out and sold that separately . So I might do this.

Also had lots of emails about the box and I think postage was the main issue. Am in no rush to sell and will not sell below its value. Also I will advertise with the AE86 owners this time. They tend to buy items like this for there cars.

Also the sale is aimed at SC owners who do not need different drive shafts.

Another thing is, I've found out the LSD is not a standard one, therefore worth more.

Ahhh fair dos - some people on here list the n/a gearbox for the same money!

Can the LSD be taken out and put in the N/A?

the AE86 is RWD with front mounted engine , the LSD in not in the gearbox..... I believe they are different.
Maybe you should take the gearbox apart and measure the LSD ?

The LSD can not be used in the n/a gearbox am afraid.

When I say AE86 - A few AE86 owners have the SC engine installed, with the E-series box, so they would be interested in the LSD.

You right about that, but if people are in desperate need of an item, they tend to pay silly money for it. i.e a pulley for 60+ pounds (ouch) I've given them away for free in the past

the ae86 engine is mounted at the front with the gearbox running to the back with only 1 output....
I can not imagine a FWD gearbox in a AE86. The differential (LSD OR open) is not even inside the gearbox on the AE86.....
There are lots of AE86 with the 4AGZE but they use the original box T50 or a supra box W5x.

Yes you are right, I think I was meant to say the LSD will fit the COROLLA AE92.

I'd probably be interested at that price but there's no way I can get up to Manchester to pick it up. Same with Marks box on the SC forum, I'm just too busy.

Well I do have to make a trip to Marks to give him a parcel, so what I can do is collect Marks box and bring it to my house (I cant store it for long though), then I can pallet both gearboxes and send both boxes together. I think if you use Shiply to get a quote then it will work out cheaper for you. I do think it will have to be on two pallets or if I can get hold of a large one then job done.

Its just a idea so will let you think about it. :-)
