Update - I went to get the car out the garage today to take some day light photos and it started but then it spluttered and the engine died. When i went to turn it over again it would not start. It has sat for a good few weeks so i tried charging the battery but it is still not starting. Im going to post in the technical section for some help.

If anyone has any ideas on what it could be let me know.

Thanks

Donna

p.s as its going yo cost me for a mechanic to come out i will take offers on the car whilst its not running, its in my garage just now so you are welcome to come and see it and have a tinker.

Due to purchase of Mk3 Roadster im now looking to sell my MK1.

Ive owned it since August 2011 and its been a treat to own and drive.

Its a 1988 "F reg " car with 147K on the clocks.

Red in colour

MOT until May 2012

Tax due 1st March 2012

Sunroof model

Cloth interior

Standard except from a Stainless exhaust ( Nice note, not noisy)

Last owner had it for 10 years and only covered 15K in the last 10 years, the previous owner carried out extensive body work repairs in 2004 and took pics of the work which will come with the car.

It had FTSH until 2000 when he bought it, since then he serviced it himself.

Comes with stacks of pics, receipts and service history

Recent work includes:

Front brake pipes for last MOT
Rear pads
Handbrake cable

Comes with original alloys with four good tyres, 2 X Avon ZV3 and 2 X Pirrelli P6000.

Needs some paintwork to tidy it up, laquer peeling from front passenger wing and some panels are painted better than others. No ariel. Original cassette player chews tapes.

A solid cheap classic at a bargain price, restore it to its former glory or enjoy as is for some bargain motoring.

Car is in Central Scotland, 20mins from Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Any questions please ask as im sure i will have forgotten something :thumleft:

I will try and get some better pics asap.

The 15" OZ alloys can come with the car for £100 and all have excellent Avon ZV3 tyres all round.

Also have some spares to come with the car

Thanks guys, it's a good solid little car, with a bit paint work it would transform it, if I can find somewhere to store it I'm thinking about keeping it as there is not a lot of mk1's for sale in Scotland now that are half decent at this money
