Hello everyone,

First of all, forgive my english speaking ability :)

Im Bruno, a 46 year old happy pocessor of an 1990 aw11, just bought this week end.I fall in love with this car few years ago, and now that ive got one, there dozens of questions about it in my head.

Im here to learn and share about this car, in France you have the reputation of the perfect knowledge database arround the mk1.

Thanks, and happy to be there.

I was told that the mk1 was sold in France but under another name because MR2 spoken in French implies that the car is a load of crap-or is this just an urban myth?
Anyway, welcome Bruno and enjoy your car .

MK2 was sold as the MR, dropping the 2 (deux) as MR deux was too close to merde (sh1t), MK1 was unless i'm totally wrong never sold in France

La voiture est rouge, pas rose. Toutes les voitures rouges deviennent habituellement rose.

(J'espère que c'est bon)

what a pity I do not speak English, I am trying to understand with difficulty, and you understand me too.
What solutions have you found for the brakes and suspension on your AW11?
oukie: All right, tell him he is not alone in France with an AW11 :)

thank you jon, that's nice because I can not ask technical questions in English, it is too bad. I'm looking for front brake pads and shock absorbers for my car slides far forward. I'd also like to make an improvement on the 4age but not too rich right now.
I keep your email for other questions.
it snows a lot here, I'll take pictures of my cars in the snow

Sorry I was just saying your car looks so nice and clean, its like a photo was taken off it and super imposed onto another photo in the snow. Cracking motor though!

Explanation: the car looked so clean like an image that has been edited/altered/modified in Adobe Photoshop (image editing software)

How much money do you have to spend on these items?

For handling you really need

ball joints
bush kit
shock absorbers
springs

With regards to your brakes: standard Mk1 brakes are fairly good. If your brake calipers are ok (daccord!) then you may just get away with new discs and pads.

And just to practice some French:

Je voudrais un petit cuillere

I would like a small spoon

hello everybody
I would like to buy one silvertop to replace my redtop , I found one with accessories, I'd like to know the difficulties for the swap, is there documentation ? Did I have to buy something else? wiring? exhaust? what else? May have to find a professional who would do it?

I need your advice before proceeding
thank you
